"Here's the two defining factors for the ones that achieved their goals. Number one is they all had commitment and continue learning. And Number Two is they all had a very clear, defined goal and a plan to achieve them. If you are bored with life, and you don't get up every single morning with a burning desire to do things, then you don't have enough goals" ~Terri Savelle Foy

Good morning! Welcome to the Keto Mom page, we are diving into our "Dream it. Pin it. Live it" by Terri Savelle Foy. The thought today is this "Goals are simply dreams with deadlines"... We're going to start talking about smart goals. We're going to talk about dreaming over the course of your entire life and getting specific over the course of the next twelve to eighteen months. So, as you're tuning in, where are you tuning in from? If you've been going through "Dream it. Pin it. Live it" with us, we're going through a book every single morning. The point is to get your mindset right, to get you in a in a positive mindset in the mornings, and to get you to really set the course of your day.
So if you get up and you're focused, you have goals, you're grateful, thankful, you're reading and you're building your mindset, then everything else will fall into place. With consistency, with action, and with smart goals.
So the point of this book is we're going to read through it, we're going to start dreaming, we're going to start writing it down, and we're going to go after the goals that you want to achieve. If you're brand new, and you're just tuning in, then this page will give you different Keto recipes, different Keto tricks and How tos.
Yesterday, we talked about Net Carbs versus Total Carbs, and every day at two o'clock, I come on, and we do a fun little tasting and a keto tip. There's no shortage of info that you can learn, to help you with your lifestyle or some would say diet. And I truly believe in the power of mindset. If you can get your mindset correct, then you will achieve your goals.
You have to have the right expectations, and right timeframe. We're going to talk about that today. So some of you might feel like it's a Monday morning, and a lot of you were blessed with not working yesterday. If you're watching this live, it is my current Tuesday. People watch things, at all different times. But if you're going through "Dream it. Pin it. Live it", and you physically have the book, hopefully you're doing the activities. You should be working on journaling and writing down your goals. So we left off on page thirty, which is at the end of chapter two and she says "What I want you to do is your vision and your vision boards will be unique to you"... Our goal is to learn to dream, learn to write them down, to get specific, and then we're going to create a vision board at the end of the month. So what she has you doing, and I talked about this yesterday was writing down 101 things that you have dreams for, in your entire life. What are your dreams? So she encourages you to take out a piece of paper (I only got to nineteen) and to write down 101 things you want to accomplish in your entire life. So that is just to get you dreaming? I'm curious, have you done it? Who here actually is doing the activity? I want to know... So that was the first goal and she said "Action step, make a list of 101 things that you want to do"... Diving into chapter three, that's what we're going to focus on for the next few pages.
Setting your top ten goals and those are goals that you're going to achieve within the next twelve to eighteen months. Because you can go after these 101 goals, but you might not achieve them for ten years.
So there's big goals and dreams, but those just help your imagination, to get you to start thinking. We're going to get very specific, like "What do you want to achieve and what can you achieve in the next twelve to eighteen months?", or "What are some things that you can accomplish by the end of the year?"...
We've got September, October, November, and December. We can say we've got approximately a hundred and twenty days. We're going to get specific and I'll walk you through how to do that.
So do you have the book or are you simply following along? Either way I'll give you the action steps to do. "Goals are simply dreams with deadlines. So what would have to happen in order for you to say something that is bold"... I'll give you an example, our friend came over today because we work out every single morning, hence my workout face. He simply said "I'm going to tell you what my goals are, but I didn't say it out loud"... and I was like "Why not?". Why are you not bold with the words that you're speaking?
Your words are powerful, and it's okay to speak it out loud one hundred percent. Put those words forth and see what happens, are you bold enough to say them?...
There's lots of stories in the book, I'm not going to read the stories. There's lots of different people's stories, and people that you would know. Oftentimes, we can look at somebody that's famous or well known, and we can say "They got lucky". But you didn't see the journey that they had to go on to get to where they are today. So she shares those people's goals, because you know them, you see them, but you don't know their backstory. If you want to read those, this is an incredible book, I would highly recommend that you grab it. But she says "Goals determine what drives you. What's easy to do, is also is easy not to do"... This morning I was working out and it was hard, I'm not gonna lie. I was getting sweaty, just for a split second I thought "It's so easy not to work out". It's hard, but it's also easy to work out if you get up and get into a routine of it, but it's still going to be hard. "It's easy to do it and it's easy not to do it".
If you create the systems and habits, you can go "This is hard, but I know my goals and I have a vision, so I'm going to keep doing it"...
So if you want to be successful, you have to set goals and you need to write them down. She share stories of people that you would know, and she talks about statistics. They talk about "If I didn't write my goals down, I would not have achieved them. They would not have been in front of me"... A man that was doing an interview with people says "I got to interview extraordinary people". Here's the two defining factors for the ones that achieved their goals... "Number one is they all had commitment and continue learning"... They all had the commitment to read, to listen to podcasts and to grow their mindset. So people that were extraordinary, the one percentage, the people that have achieved their goals in life, are always learning. You're always learning, because you're here. "And Number Two is they all had a very clear, defined goals and a plan to achieve them"...
They were always learning and they had a very clear, defined goal. How do we do that? That's what we're going to figure out. "If you are bored with life, and you don't get up every single morning with a burning desire to do things, then you don't have enough goals"...
Do you get up with excitement or do you get up with like "I have to". You want to get up with excitement, right? You want to get up with "Yes, I'm alive!", "I'm breathing", or "I get to go after goals and dreams"... So this is super interesting "Eight percent of Americans don't have any goals. Sixteen percent have goals, but they don't write them down. Three percent have goals, they write them down, but they don't review them. One percent, it says all millionaires have goals, they write them down, they review them and they are continuously reviewing them. You cannot reach your full potential without goals". Somebody might be saying "I have them and they right here in my mind". That doesn't count, you have to write them down. I'm going to give you a very specific action step at the end of the day.
Are you going to leave your life up to chance or are you going to get specific? If you live a life by chance, you're going to let the world determine everything that you do.
Other people, interruptions, everybody else's agenda, and it's going to be easy to let all of your goals go by the wayside because you let other people determine your day. Don't do it! We're going to get specific. All right! "You will achieve your goals ten times faster and with greater probability if you're absolutely crystal clear on what you want and how you're going to get there"... We're going to fast forward, and we're going to page thirty eight.
She talks about making mistakes in goal setting, and not being clear. Things like "Okay, I have goals. I want to lose weight, I want to save money, I want to get out of debt"... "They're too broad. Broad, unclear and too vague of goals get forgotten"...
They're not committed, and you don't have them visibly in front of you. You don't actually have something that you can achieve, like "I want to lose weight". Well, How much? When or by when?. "Setting goals for your life means deciding what you want in life, planning on how to get it and then going after it. Taking Action"... So here's your action step of the day, her name is Terry and she says I'm going to give you a thirty day challenge. Are you ready for it? People that want to achieve goals take action.
So here's your here's your challenge, in the beginning of the book, we asked you to start writing down a list of 101 things. I have nineteen, I have not yet written 101. But this is an ever flowing list. This is to dream big. This is life goals. What we want you to do for the next thirty days, is we want you to start dreaming S.M.A.R.T. goals. Have you ever heard of S.M.A.R.T. goals? First of all, S.M.A.R.T. goals are specific, "You must be very clear on what you want"... We are going to write goals out that you can achieve by the end of the year. You've got one hundred twenty days, because we're going to redo this in January, and then we're going to set goals for the year. Okay, a hundred and twenty days, think of specific goals. What is specific? 'I will save money for this year?" Not specific enough!. "I will save $5,000 by December 31st", that would be a specific year goal. She says twelve months, what can you do in the next one hundred and twenty days. "Measurable, this is where you can truly measure and hit your goals"...
"I will lose weight" Nope! It has to be "How much weight do you want to lose in the next 120 days?". "I will lose ten pounds in the next one hundred and twenty days". That's specific and measurable.
"So S.M.A.R.T. stands for Specific, Measurable, Action Oriented... Use an action verb when setting goals, such as Reduce, Save, Earn, Exercise, Invest. (I'll write these down and put them here too). Realistic, like what can you accomplish in the next one hundred and twenty days. And finally, Time Sensitive. Deadline, your deadline is December 31st. So you're going to think of ten goals, the maximum of ten. She says "First of all, I really don't recommend setting more than ten goals. If you set five goals, that's great"...
Ten goals, I want you to write down ten or five things. Let's do five to ten in the next hundred and twenty days. "Specific, Measurable, Action Oriented, Realistic and Time Sensitive".
We're going to go to page forty, and so this is what our goals are. That's your action step, I want you to think of five to ten goals in the next one hundred and twenty days. What can you achieve by December 31st of 2021, that you can measure and hit? Every single day you're going to get up and you're going to write those goals out.. So from tomorrow until December seventh or eighth. You're going to get up, take two minutes, and you're going to write out five to ten goals on a piece of paper.
You're going to look at them and you're going to write them out. A lot of you want to lose some weight. A goal would be "I'm going to plan our meals every Sunday, and we're going to eat at home five days a week"... That's measurable. "I'm going to lose ten pounds by December 31st", "I'm going to work out at the gym, three days a week. Every single week until the end of the year", "I'm going to drink X amount of water every single day, for the rest of the year", "I'm going to go for a walk"... So your action step today is five to ten goals you can accomplish by the end of the year that are measurable. And then the 101 goals are the dreams that you want to accomplish over the course of your lifetime. But for now, five to ten goals, you need to write them down, you need to be specific, and we're going to write them out every single day. I will share with you my goals tomorrow, because I need to revisit them. Sound good? That's your action steps. So this is the book we're going through "Dream it. Pin it. Live it" by Terri Savelle Foy. We're going to continue to go through it, and we're up to page forty. Let me know what questions you have, continue to tune in.
