Hey, everybody! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie, and we are actually going to dive into setting goals. I do a morning FB-live almost every single day and we go through a book. We talk about mindset and the importance of believing in your goals. If you see it, pay attention to your words, take action, then you will eventually achieve your goals. But if you look at things negatively, if you're speaking trash, then it is unlikely to happen.

Earlier this morning, we finished this book, "The 5-Second Rule" by Mel Robbins. And I know I said we're going to start this book, "Goals" by Zig Ziglar, by tomorrow, but actually we're going to do that now. I'm going to go through a couple of things, and we're going to start thinking about our goals. We're not going to wait until January, we're not going to wait until December 28th or 29th. I know that Christmas is just around the corner, & some might still be out shopping. Our kids have already opened up everything. We're done with everything because we're traveling on Christmas Day. We did things a little bit differently this year, and it was so much fun...
So if you're watching while you're shopping, at home wrapping presents, if you're thinking about starting, or whatever the case may be. I want you to think about a couple of things as you're going through your next few days before January comes. Earlier today I was actually thinking "What should I do", or "What should we talk about?"...
By the way, I'm going to shake up my ketones. I shake one up every time I give you a Keto tip in the afternoon. But today, I'm shaking up a protein shake, mainly because I just really want one... What I want to do is go through this book with you, it's called "Goals" by Zig Ziglar. I want to give you some very tactical things to think about and an action step that you can do, as you are wrapping, shopping, and doing all the fun things for the holidays. I'm shaking up a Keto protein. I call it my Mom Fuel, but it's still Ketones. I decided to drink the Keto Protein instead because we really didn't have lunch. We ate like a brunch and I'm not really hungry. This is what I'm having, it's not meant to be a meal replacement, but it's a protein shake. I'm adding our Keto Kreme, this is what we put in our coffee. I also like the collagen for my hair and skin, but today I'm adding the creamer to my protein. This is a chocolate protein and a peppermint cream. It's kind of a peppermint shake and it's really good...
Okay! I need to know where are you tuning in from and who actually has not done their shopping yet? The girls and I went to Cabela's this afternoon because we were trying to find something for my dad. Does anybody else feel like dads are the hardest to buy gifts for? I feel like whatever they want, they just go buy it for themselves. So we went there and just found something kind of silly for him... We also have church tonight, we're doing Christmas Eve service. I'm singing on the worship team, and I just recently started doing that.

I'm going to let you make a list for yourself and it's up to you if you do it or not. I'm going to do it myself as well, I actually started yesterday. And I realized that I don't have enough dreams. Does anybody else feel like that? Like, you're in mom mode or work mode. And then somebody asks you, "What do you like to do?", or "What are your hobbies". You answer, "I'm a mom", or "I love to read"... It really will just make you think about your goals or the things that you want to achieve over the next year. I want to give you a perspective or thought of what you might have to work through. "More than ninety percent (90%) of what is put into our minds daily, is of a negative nature"... So the first thing you're going to have to work on is your mindset. Whether that's listening to a podcast, reading, or people that you're watching.

What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of success? Are you afraid of somebody might judge you? Are you afraid that your parents, spouse, or somebody might say, "You'll never look like that?", "You're never going to lose the weight", or "I can't believe you're going to a gym". Maybe you're just afraid to walk into a gym? It's the power of what people say over us, and what we think somebody might say even if they might never say it.
I'm going to tell you three things. When I was done with high school, I went to visit a college in South Dakota. I'm from Minnesota, born and raised, and I really wanted to be a sign language interpreter. I wanted to be an interpreter so badly, I took classes. I took all of the community classes I could take. I went to visit a college out in South Dakota and I became afraid. My parents and I, all went to the college visit, I walked around and I was only eighteen.

Thinking back today as an adult, I wish somebody would have asked me, "Are you sure it's just because you want to save money?", or "You really were passionate about sign language, so why are you not doing it?"... Number two, I then decided to go to a community college. Do you ever think about things that you regret in life? I went to a local college, I worked, and I decided to enroll in the nursing program. I wanted to be an OB nurse. Today, looking back, I actually think I would have been an incredible nurse. So I enrolled in the program, and I remember going to my first anatomy and physiology class. I sat in this big class and we were having a lecture. The first thing they said was, "What does everyone want to do?", "What kind of nurse do you want to be?"...

Okay! Number three, I've had a lot of people say things to me like, "You can't do that", or "You won't do it". I need you to know something, earlier I asked you to make a list. So if you have decided to take control of your life and there are things you are passionate about, then you're going to have to do the activity from the book. I have been a singer my whole life. I am not a professional singer, but I love to sing and I love to worship. My dad and my mom pushed me to sing for years when I was young. I had my own little show at the fair until I graduated, and I would sing for an hour and I got paid to do it. I would sing country songs and I loved it. I also joined a couple of worship teams.

After that, I kept thinking, "Why didn't anybody else tell me I couldn't sing?". I've been singing my whole life, although not at the level of Carrie Underwood. Well, do you want to know what happened? I actually dropped off the worship team and I did not try out. Now, in every church I've been to, I would watch the worship group and I'd I love it. I would see myself worshiping and I love it. So I decided a few months ago that I was going to audition, or just try to reach out to the worship leader. I said, "Hey, I think I could actually help and I would love to support you". I told myself I was going to finally do it. I wanted to also show the girls, our daughters, and I wanted to lead by example. They had talked about doing worship, playing, and singing.

I'm telling you this because sometimes people are mean, not all people though. My daughter has an Instagram account called @AGirlWithJesus. Her goal is to encourage teenagers to bring about a positive mindset, not be so negative, and gossip. She did her first live video the other day, it was great, and she was just answering questions. She did another live video earlier today, and suddenly she got off of it.

And so I told her, "Amelia if you decide to put yourself out there if you decide to have goals and dreams. Or you might decide to write things down and put them in your mirror. Eventually, somebody's going to find out that you have goals, and they might be mean about it, but you have to have the determination. You must know that "Hurt people, hurt people"...
So if you have goals, and you have a desire in your heart. You can put a couple of steps into play, it doesn't matter what other people say. You might not believe that you can lose a hundred pounds or fifty pounds. Maybe you want to be a coach to somebody. But if you can just take a step back and say, "It doesn't matter what other people say", "I'm going to do it no matter what", "I'm going to do the activities", "I'm going to take the action", "I'm going to do it consistently every single day"... I bet that if you do this, and you give yourself an adequate amount of time, no matter what anybody else says. Let's see if anything changes in your life...
Alright! Back to the book. The first thing he said was, "I want to bring awareness to you". The reason people don't hit their goals is that number one they're afraid. Number two they've got a poor self-image, which we're going to work on. That's why we read and talk about the power of our mindset. Number three, the reason people don't think they can achieve their goals is that there's no buy-in. He said, "I'm going to give you the specific tools, and the steps. But you have to do the work, it's not going to be handed to you. You will be able to work when you work, play when you play, and have your mindset not all over the place. We're going to be specific and focused".... The last thing he said was, "People don't know how". There should never be an excuse for not knowing how, maybe it's just a lack of direction. If you don't know how to do something, we have every single thing that we need, accessible at our fingertips. Even simply saying, "Siri, please tell me how to bake this cake"...
"I don't know how" really just means, "I need to take a little bit of time to go figure out how". There's YouTube, Google, there are pages like Keto Mom. It's not just mine, there are recipes, tips, and tricks everywhere. All it comes down to is, "I need to put into action what I'm learning, and I need the steps on how to do it". You need to be committed to yourself. You need to have the why behind what you're doing. And then you're going to have to put it into play...

There are just things, and when I wrote them down I told myself, "Alright! I can do all of these things because they've already been in my heart. But what else do I want?" I'm still figuring that out... He's going to have you write everything down. We're going to talk about "Why" you have them written down. We're going to talk about eliminating some things that might not be great to focus on this year. We're going to make sure that they're not hurting anybody else. And he wants to make sure they're balanced. Like if I had all of my goals, and every single one of my goals was 24/7 focused on our business, what do you think is lacking? That would be the relationship with my kids, my spouse, and probably some other things that I might have missed out on.

I wish I could do this for you. I was thinking today, I really should have been a counselor. I would have loved to do that, just talk online. I think there are a lot of things I actually would have loved to do. I really would have loved to have been a baby nurse, but it is what it is.
