Do something you've never done before, try something different. Reach out and ask somebody new for mentorship or ask somebody new for an idea. Do something different to get you out of the rut and cap off your life. Believe you can do something that you truly long for, because you can.
Good morning everybody! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie and I'm going to talk about training fleas.
I read my Bible this morning and I also read different things. My goal is to look for something that can encourage you, but I realized today that it doesn't really matter.
I'm going to read an actual story to you, and however it pertains to you, my hope is that you receive it and take action on it.
I sometimes feel like I have to put things in black and white to help people with their goals. But then I realized that sometimes, I actually just need to allow people to hear and receive things. And then it's up to them to take action on it.
There's so much information to help you in any area of your life. There is no shortage of information. What you have to do, what you get to do, and what you are blessed to do, is to learn something and put it into action.
That is what you get to do if you want to reach the goals that you have in your heart. I'm going to read something interesting to you. And no matter how it pertains to you, whatever pops into your mind, or whatever it whispers to you. I would challenge you to take action on whatever that whisper is.
"To reach your goals, you have to know how to train Fleas".
You've probably heard this one about the two fleas at the bottom of a hill and one says, "Well? Do we walk or do we take a dog?". I guess that's a little corny, but it leads to the fact that you can actually train fleas by putting them in a jar, putting the lid on the jar, and those fleas will jump up and hit the lid over and over and over and over.
And after a while though, you'll notice that although they continue to jump, they no longer will hit the top. That is an absolute fact. Then you can take the lid off and the fleas will continue to jump, but they will not jump out. They have conditioned themselves to just jump so high. And once they're conditioned themselves to jump so high, that's it. They will never jump out of the jar.
Humans are exactly the same. They start out in life ready to climb the mountains, write the book, and break records. Along the way, they bump their heads or stub their toe.
Are you susceptible to negative influence?
Are you being told you have a lid put on you?
Has somebody said something to you?
Do you believe something that is keeping you here, when you should be there?
What are the things people have told you?
What are the things that you were believing?
What are the lies that you were told?
Are you the flea that jumped, hit their heads, have an awareness to actually do more, but you're afraid to get out of the jar?
"A classic example of a four-minute mile".
For years, athletes have said, "I'm going to break the barrier", "I'm going to break the barrier", "I'm going to run a mile in four minutes"...
They would toe the line, and they would get ready. But even as they were toeing the line, they never broke the barrier because the coach's voice said to them, "You will never make it. You will never run the mile in four minutes. You might get it in 4:02 or 4:03. But there will never be a four-minute mile ran. It's impossible".
Nobody broke the barrier until Roger Bannister came along. First of all, Roger Bannister was a superb athlete. Second, he had a tremendous positive mental attitude. Third, he was goal-setting and personified. He measured his strides, he had it broken down to the very minute, to every degree that he had to do to accomplish the goal that everybody said couldn't be done.
The plans were set and he ran a mile. He ran a mile in a little less than four minutes.
A lot of lessons in this event happened. The difference between winning and being second is very small. It's not a very good idea to be looking back when you ought to be looking forward.
Since Roger Bannister broke the barrier, it has allowed thousands of people to run a mile in less than four minutes.
It was all because of one man who didn't listen to the coach. Who didn't listen to other people's viewpoints, and who actually did what he believed he could do. It was his mindset, and he actually took time to pace himself out, to make a plan, to figure it out, to do the work, to get past the barrier of what people said he couldn't do.
Where in your life have put barriers on yourself? Are you the flea?
Did you listen to the coach who said it'll never be done?
Did you stub your toe?
Have you gotten hurt?
I could easily say to myself that I'm not going back to CrossFit, because it hurts so bad. My body hurts so bad. How often do we feel pain? How often do we feel the words of other people? How often do we have our own mindsets talk us out of doing things that we know we can do, we need to do, we long to do, and the things that we want to achieve, but we've put barriers on ourselves?
Breaking barriers!
The last thing that was so that there's one more thing I wanted to say and from another book I was reading, I read a lot of books throughout the morning.
Do you avoid taking risks or trying new things?
One of the best ways to get out of the rut of your own thinking is to innovate. You can do that in little ways, every single day.
Drive to work a different way.
Order an unfamiliar dish at a restaurant.
Ask a different colleague to help you with a familiar project.
Take yourself off autopilot.
That is how you're going to break a barrier. Do something you've never done before, try something different. Reach out and ask somebody new for mentorship or ask somebody new for an idea. Do something different to get you out of the rut and cap off your life. Believe you can do something that you truly long for because you can.
If we talk about your fat loss journey, there's probably something different you need to do.
Something else you need to implement or say "No" to.
I don't know how this is going to speak to you or the things that are in your heart.
Maybe it's been 30 or 40 years and you feel like you've settled. You've been hitting your head on the top of the lid for so long and you haven't been giving your life everything that you have. You haven't been going after the things you want to achieve.
You have let other people, circumstances, environments, or your own mind limit you to what you can truly do. Whatever that means to you. I pray and I hope that you think about it today. Figure out what that is, and then take action. It could be one little action, like a phone call or a question you need to ask somebody. It could be getting out of your comfort zone.
I wish I knew all of the answers for all of you, and you could all just go and do it. But you have to figure that out on your own.
All right! Thank you for tuning in. I truly appreciate it. Make the best of your day, and as always, you can always message me, you can head over to ketomomsecrets.com where there are a lot of different things that can help you. Otherwise, we'll talk to you soon. Bye, everybody!
