Leveraging Your Energy ( At Your Best by Carey Nieuwhof )

"Use your most productive hours to develop your gifts, not just use it. And then your green zone, when leveraged, will become the most treasured hours of your day. Whether you're at work or you're at home". ~Carey Nieuwhof

Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie, and we're going to dive into the book "At Your Best" by Carey Nieuwhof.

I like to focus on mindset in the mornings because I realized years ago that most people eat out of their emotions and feelings. I was helping people pick recipes, drink their water, move their bodies, and eat healthier. One thing that was lacking in a lot of people's lives was self-development, or understanding mindset and gratitude.

People weren't taking time to have an awareness of how often they were eating and what they were eating. And so that brought me to decide to do books in the morning.

Oftentimes I say...

  • Why do you overeat?

  • Why do you find yourself going through the drive-thru?

  • Why do you do the things that you do?

If you don't take time to be aware of these things, you won't get to the root of it.

I've had so many conversations with people around unforgiveness and family members. One of the reasons why you might be where you're at today is your past environments or stress.

Stress does play a factor in food. People don't correlate other people's situations, environments, and mindsets.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆.

"I crave sugar, that's why I might be overweight"...
  • Why?

  • Why do you do what you do?

  • Why did you not prep your food when you know you should?

  • Why did you not move your body when you know you should have?

  • Why did you make the excuse that you were tired and sat on the couch?

  • Why did you grab the Oreos?

  • Why did you go through the drive-thru?

  • Why didn't you pack your lunch?

  • Why did you hit snooze?

If you can just take some time and think about these things. People don't do that, they want a quick fix. Like they want the weight gone in two weeks. They want the magic potion and all those things.

There's no overnight success.

When you watch social media, you might feel like people have overnight success. But you didn't see the years of ups and downs, the mountains, the valleys, the processes, the learning, and the failures. You didn't see it, but you get to see the before and after pictures.

It wasn't overnight at all, and if you ask them specifically they would tell you all the things they had to go through.

I'm not a doctor, but I'll give you some insights into what I've learned and the things I've dove into. I've learned a lot, and I've had some incredible people, mentors, our CEO, and people that have poured into me because they believed in me.

And because of that, I'm a completely different person now, compared to seven years ago when we actually started this journey.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀 "𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺".

  • I didn't have value to add.

  • I would never go to the gym.

  • I would rarely ever work on myself.

  • I felt like it was selfish.

  • I never left my kids at home.

  • I rarely left them with a babysitter.

And only because I never had another mom tell me that it's okay to go to the gym, or do a little bit of self-care so that I can overflow into my children. I never had that. But when I found this lifestyle, I had a community of people say things like I had value to add, and I'm more than just a mom. Moms are great!

  • What are you passionate about?

  • What do you want to do?

  • What are things that you want to see and accomplish?

I had people pour into me, which was incredible. It made me a completely different person. So you can come and get recipes, which is great. But you need to figure out the root cause of why you do what you do.

I want to plug into this community if you don't have an environment that grows you. Fat loss is great, but I'm going to guess that you've got a passion, a vision, or something that you would like to do if money and time were not factors.

𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸.
But that's something that can be fixed because you've got something to offer to the world. If you're lacking vision, it's time to start finding it.
We all have a purpose, we all were created for a purpose, and we all have greatness inside of us.

There's something that you're supposed to do, and only you can figure that out. You can't let things hold you back. And so we are going to work through that by going through books. There are a lot of books that can help you in the different areas of your life.

You can go to ketomomsecrets.com and click on Book Club. It will show you all of the books that we've done. You can also just tune in here, or you can send me a message.

𝗦𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 "𝗔𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁" 𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗲𝘂𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗳, 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

If you feel like your time isn't allotted, you're not working on your best timeframes, you've got low energy, and your priorities are out of whack. Then this book is for you, and I'll give you the highlights of what it's about. You can just take what you want and have some new awareness, so you can move on towards your goals and you can focus.

"While you have 24 equal hours in a day, we all do not feel equal or productive. Leveraging your energy is where the exponential return begins".

The author talked about having different colored zones of energy. He talked about how you spend your day being dependent on how productive you are.

"A narrow gifting can be a superpower. Gifting your giftings, plus your passion, plus your impact equals optimal Green Zone. Your gifting is what you're naturally good at".

"Your passion is what you love to do and it's what gives you energy. In the same way that not all hours are created equal, not all tasks are created equal as well".

He's going to try to help you understand how to spend your time and what to spend your time on. Like not scrolling on your phone, not sitting in front of the T.V., and not doing things mindlessly. You need to figure out the things that you truly want to do, learn how to get those things done and be productive.

How do you maximize your time?

𝗢𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼.
If you were to backtrack and rewind your day, you might be able to point out all of the times that you wasted your time. Both social media and television probably have a big part in that.

I love social media, I think it's great for learning. But you have to learn and implement. You don't just learn and learn, you've got to learn and take action. But if you're scrolling and making comparisons or because you're bored, then you're not spending your time wisely as well.

"The more naturally gifted you are at something, the easier it is to spend time on it. You cheat your gift when you use it, but never take the time to develop it".

"Use your most productive hours to develop your gifts, not just use them. And then your green zone, when leveraged, will become the most treasured hours of your day. Whether you're at work or you're at home".

I was thinking about the most productive hours of my day. Mine would be in the afternoon. I like to get up and read in the mornings. I have a morning routine. But the most productive time of my day, when I'm truly focused and get a ton done is between 2 to 5 o'clock in the afternoon. So in that time, I can do my priorities and be the most productive.

  1. What are some things that you need to focus on?

  2. What are some things you're looking for?

  3. What do you need?

  4. Do you need an understanding of habits?

  5. Do you want to know how to create healthy habits?

  6. Do you want to know how to take action?

Tell me what you need, and how I can help. I can give you some guidance, hopefully. I will find books and different things to help you and we can probably go through another book together.

Honestly, I don't know what the next book would be yet. There are a lot of books that tell different stories but have the same message of awareness, gratitude, taking action, EQ and AQ.

So I am going to look for another book, and we will base the next book on what you're looking for. Books and people are valuable. You can listen to podcasts and learn from other people that have already done what you have done. If you want to get somewhere faster, learn from somebody else and from what they've already gone through.

The only way you're going to get further faster is by learning from somebody else, and then taking action because they taught you what not to do.

That's as fast as you get to go. Learn from other people so you don't have to do slip-ups as they did. That's the power of reading and learning and asking somebody to mentor you. That's the power of being around like-minded people. You are like the top five people you hang around with.

If you're struggling with certain things in your life, maybe you should look at your circle or your group of friends. You might actually need to find somebody or a different peer group that's already overcome this problem.

𝗜'𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘁.
It could be another person or by listening to a podcast. Spend less time at the bar and more time somewhere else.
Spend less time in certain environments, and more time in other places. Less time here so that you can put better time there.

Anyways, I hope you have an incredible morning, and thank you for tuning in. Share with me what you're looking for, and we'll talk to you very soon. Bye!
