Good morning! Hello!
It's like bright on my face where it's still dark out where we're at, obviously. So Hey, good morning, where are you tuning in from, I have a real quick thought for you. We just got done with CrossFit, it's obviously still dark out. So we're using our flashlight. Okay, so as you're tuning in, where are you tuning in from who's got a workout in this morning? How's the weather where you're at? So we are currently in Minnesota.
And it's nice this week, but last week it felt like it was gonna snow. Okay, so here's my thought for this morning... There's a kind of a backstory to it but all I will say is this,
I woke up this morning and my mind immediately went to "Ugh! I'm so tired, we should have skipped this morning".
We talked about it, we talked about not working out today, we were like, "We'll just take off Wednesday, it's not a big deal". And so I woke up and I was like, "I'm so tired, I'm going to come home after my workout, and I'm gonna take a nap".
And we got to the workout, we just finished it and right after I was done I told myself, "I have to remember how great I feel right now, because tomorrow I have to remember the same thing". Your mind can play tricks on you, I feel amazing, I got enough sleep, it's easy to make excuses. And so it's like,
"Oh! I feel so good, I feel so good I have to remind myself, the end is worth it".
So, when you're going through your day whether it's working out or making the choice between the donut or not the donut or deciding what you're going to eat for that day. Maybe you are at the office or you're at a school, and you're like, "Oh that satisfaction of sleeping in, hitting the alarm clock, grabbing the donut would be so great for five seconds". But if I hit the alarm clock, or if we slept in we can both bet we would be like, "Ugh! We should have went to the gym", don't you think?
And we'd have to pay twenty dollars ($20), because we didn't go.
But how often do you eat something and then it's satisfying for five seconds, but then you're like "I wish I wouldn't have done that".
I've been let down so many times by eating a donut or something I shouldn't today, it's just not worth it.
So basically my thought was this, "What's the end game, what's the result, what are your goals?". When you accomplish a day, like if today you dominate your day and you feel amazing, anchor it somehow like figure it out. I love working out, I love going to the gym. There are days that I'm tired, but I have to remember how good I feel after I'm done.
I love that, and so two things that you said... Goals and then Anchoring it, I think that's so important. Because everyday when we do our CrossFit workout we go around the circle, we say our name and then we answer some kind of a fun question. And yesterday's thing was, "What's one of your goals?". And I think so often people, they could have like a very short term goal, but I would challenge you "What's your long term goals?".
And even with your short term goals, how do you know... So you said anchor it, I love that because I bet you there's so many of you right now who have goals, have some ideas, have some businesses you want to start or things you want to do... Have you written it down, right? And maybe your first step today is you can say "All right, here's my goal", and you're gonna just put it in the comment box down below. And that's a form of recognizing it and typing it, does that make sense?
So I would really encourage you that one of the best ways to anchor your goals is to write them down and make them visible, put them all over the house.
Have an accountability group, its really really important. I post our workouts almost every single day on our Instagram stories. Not for anybody else, but just the fact that I was like "I did it, I'm going to post it. If I don't go to the gym then I'm like, oh shoot we didn't go". It's really more of an accountability for us.
So ketomomsecrets on Instagram. Yes, if you're on Instagram ketomomsecrets, otherwise reach out, let us know what questions you have. We are here to help.
Remember, when you accomplish that thing that day, remember how you feel. Because I'm like "I'm ready for tomorrow's workout".
That's really great. That's it. Okay. I hope you guys have a great day.
And we'll talk to you soon.
Bye.
