Morning Mindset: Morning Helpers

Updated: Sep 9, 2022

"If you fail to plan you plan to fail"... Just give yourself a little bit of time to plan throughout the week. Have some systems in place, and tools that will help you make better choices, and keep you working towards your goals.

Good morning! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie and we're going to talk about your morning. Kids are going back to school, we are going into a different season, and summer is done.

"What are some ideas for me to do in the mornings so that I can be productive, make better choices, feel great, and not end up in a drive-thru?"

What does your morning usually look like? Are you a go-go-go person, or do you wake up late? I have a book called "The Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod. If you're looking for something to help you slow down, have a productive morning, own your morning, own your day, and get on track (mindset-wise, schedule-wise, attitude-wise) then I would suggest grabbing this book. It's a short read, grab it, read it, and then take the action.

"If you fail to plan you plan to fail".

We are on vacation, and our mornings have looked a little bit different. We are normally in Minnesota, but we're currently in Florida on a family vacation with my entire side. Today's our last day and we leave tomorrow, and when we get home it's back to school. If your kids are in sports, then it's going to be a whole new season.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸?
Just give yourself a little bit of time to plan throughout the week. Have some systems in place, and tools that will help you make better choices, and keep working towards your goals.

Give yourself time to think, am I going to eat breakfast? or Am I going to intermittent fast?... I don't intermittent fast every single day, but when I do, it's great. If you want to know the benefits of intermittent fasting, just Google it. It actually helps with lots of different things. It can help you get back on track, stay on track, and eat a little bit less. There are just so many benefits to fasting.

𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝘆𝗲𝗿.

I know it sounds silly, but it's a must-have if you are eating breakfast in the morning for you and your kids. Every day, no matter what, my kids usually have eggs or sausages. We homeschool and we work from home, so our mornings looks a little different than most people. It's one of the easiest things to grab, like sausages from Costco. Throw them in the air fryer, start it, and then go about your morning.

So get up, do your morning, read, do your hair, or do your makeup. You can now cook for all the kids because it takes just 10 minutes for those little sausages in the air fryer to cook while you go about your day. Or this can be just for you, it doesn't have to be for your kids.

You can plan a little bit... You can make hard-boiled eggs or any type of eggs, and have those ready in the refrigerator. You can prep your food on a Sunday, Monday, or Saturday, whatever works for you. You can bake eggs and ham and make those little egg cups like the ones you buy at Starbucks. You can make your own, or you can go to some stores and they already have them pre-made for you.

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹.
But if you plan, then you will not fail because you have them in order.

So get an air fryer! I feel that's a must, especially for mornings. You can throw anything in there, like salmon patties or a piece of chicken. You can throw it in the air fryer, let it cook, and just go about your morning and it's done. It makes life easier if you're on the go and need to get things moving.

An air fryer is a simple tool that's going to help with your mornings.

Also, having things in your refrigerator will help you, and grab your water bottle for the day. I grab my ketones, some people grab their coffee, and some people grab their energy drinks. But Ketones are my tool, this is my fuel of choice.

SIMPLE BREAKFAST MEALS

𝗪𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝗲𝗴𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲.

I use the air fryer every single day. You can do turkey bacon in the oven or the air fryer. I sometimes make some hard-boiled eggs so they're ready for breakfast, or egg salad for lunch.

So to keep yourself out of the drive-thru, all you need to do is pick what day works for you. Plan a little bit, pre-cook a little bit, and that will set you up for success ahead of most people.

SIMPLE LUNCH MEALS

The same thing with lunches, you can grab some deli meat and cheese, some lettuce wraps, low-carb wraps, pickles, hard-boiled eggs, or cans of tuna fish. If you have a refrigerator, load it up with your own lunches. You can heat something up or just make a quick sandwich.

Don't overthink it! Some people say they're bored or they want something different. Your goals have to outdo or outthink the idea of being bored with the same food. Sometimes people get so fixated and frustrated with having new recipes.

𝗠𝘆 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗲.

You can have some sausage, eggs, turkey bacon, or regular bacon. If you have a waffle maker, all you have to do is throw two eggs in a mug with your favorite protein powder, and a dash of vanilla, mix it really quickly, throw it in the waffle maker while you run, and do something else in the morning. You can also make super easy protein shakes.

Give yourself five breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. You can rotate them if you truly want to reach your goals.

And then if you have some extra time, you can go and do a little bit of research. So that next Sunday, you can grab all the ingredients and make a new meal. But always make sure to have your staples every single day, no matter what, because you have goals.

If you want to lose some weight, feel better, and get healthier and leaner, then make sure that you have your staples. Always keep the basic things that you're going to have, no matter what. So that if in case you don't plan a meal, you can go to the refrigerator and grab a hard-boiled egg, a pickle, or a lettuce wrap. Even if you don't feel like it, at least you're not going through a drive-thru or a gas station to grab something that will not make you feel good in five minutes.

Your morning shouldn't be stressful. No meal should be stressful.

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝘁.

Lay it out, go to the grocery store, and store it in the refrigerator. You can also have your helpers like the air fryer and the waffle maker on the counter. I know some people don't like to have things on the counter, but it's going to be easier if it's within your eyesight.

You have to have it all set up. Have your mug right by your waffle maker. Anything that you need that can help you and convenience you. I don't care if there's stuff on my counter, I laugh at my sister who has nothing on her counters and this is not convenient for me.

"Out of sight, out of mind"

𝗜𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱. 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁.

So there are also just the little things like we prepare our shaker bottles in the morning. When I clean up my kitchen, I put my shaker bottle on the counter and I have my ketones beside it. Before I go to bed, I think about what I need for tomorrow. Even if I work and stay at home, I still like to get up and flow seamlessly through my morning.

We keep it super simple, and then we start school. So even though we are still at home, we basically eat the same way and the same things. For our lunchtime, we make wraps or we make whatever leftovers we had for dinner. I stay home, I work from home, I have a business and my kids' homeschool. Our life is a little different, and yet we still stay focused and on track. We still use the air fryer and different things to help us. I don't like to waste time.

I also drink Ketones, I drink them every single day. This is my energy drink or my coffee, it's incredible.

𝗜𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻 𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿.

I would love to teach you more about it. It legitimately gives you ketones to help you with your energy, focus, and appetite control. I don't have to eat garbage, because it helps me with my cravings. I don't have to take a nap because it keeps me awake. I feel focused to homeschool my kids because ketones are brain fuel, and so much more.

Alright! If you have questions, just reach out. Also, grab this book called "The Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod. It will help you own your morning, and when you own your morning, you own your day. The choices that you make with food are based on your mindset. Your mindset is based on your morning, which is based on you getting up or sleeping in.

This morning I read about the power of your thoughts before you go to bed. What are you thinking about and what are you watching before you go to bed? Because when you get up, it's usually based on the last couple of thoughts that you had the night before. If you go to bed worried or frustrated, get a notebook out and brainstorm.

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀, 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.

You will wake up in the state of what you went to sleep in.

It was super interesting, try it tonight. When you go to bed, think about where your mindset is at.

  • Don't watch the news

  • Listening to something inspiring

  • Read a book

  • Be thankful and grateful.

When you wake up in the morning, believe that you're going to have a great day. Walk through the things that you're grateful for. Read a book, listen to a podcast, or sit and relax for just 15 minutes. Let your mind be thankful and grateful for the things you get to do...

  • I get to go to work.

  • I get to bring my kids to school.

  • I get to eat my hard-boiled egg.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹.

Look at the choices you made throughout your day, and go all the way back to your morning and see how you started. If you had a great morning, then you probably are going to make great choices. If you did not have a great morning, then you're probably at the drive-thru right now.

If you ever find yourself going through the drive-thru, you can still make better choices.

I'm not saying that a drive-thru is bad. I'm just saying the choices that most people make are not the best. If you go through a drive-thru because you forgot your lunch, order a burger and take the buns. Grab a salad, but take the croutons off the salad. I don't want to condemn you for going through a drive-thru because you can still make better choices.
