Welcome to the Keto Mom Facebook page, my name is Stephanie. I want to say don't mess up good for perfect. What we are going to talk about today is, "Are you prepared for your week?". So the question is "Are you prepared to have a successful week, and what does that look like?"... So as you're tuning in, where are you tuning in from? I am tuning in from my closet, I am hiding in here sitting in my massage chair, because it is really loud in our living room. We're going to talk really quick, I'm going to keep it short and sweet. I want to make sure that you are prepared for this week.
"Why do you have to be prepared?" Have you guys ever heard the saying or the phrase "If you fail to plan you plan to fail".
All that it means is, you can have a goal of getting healthier, going to the gym everyday this week, getting up early and reading, you can have all these goals. But what my husband often says and he gets it from the book "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, is "You don't rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems". Have you guys ever read the book "Atomic Habits"? It's incredible. Now, you can take that saying and put it into your today. Some of you are tuning in from around the world, and you're already into Monday. Majority of you, tune in from somewhere in the United States or Canada, which means it's Sunday for you. And I treat Sundays as a prep day, a rest day, we got up we went to church, we had lunch with my family. We were having dinner tonight with my family for my mom's birthday.
But I also looked through the refrigerator, through my freezer, and I think of what we have going on this week. I look at my calendar and I go "Okay, we're going to have keto lasagna here. I've got a whole bunch of eggs, we could have breakfast for dinner or we could have tacos"...
I just like to have an idea of what we're making, and what I have in my home. Our Tuesdays and Wednesdays are really busy, with volleyball, church, ballet and homeschooling. It's easy sometimes to just say "I didn't plan my meals, I didn't thought out the meat, I'm going to go through the drive thru, it's easier"... I get that it's easier. It's just not healthier. So if you take Sunday, and all you have to do is take a little bit of time, probably thirty minutes, I don't know what your family does on Sundays. It's my family, my sister, my brother in law and kids and they're watching a movie. So I would be sitting out there and I was going through the fridge and going through our meals.
It's seems so simple, but if you don't take that little bit of time to do it, you're going to get to Wednesday and you're going to go through the drive thru. You're not going to make the choices or the decisions that you wanted to and then you're going to beat yourself up on Friday because your week wasn't how you wanted it to be. So all I wanted to do is come and ask "Are you prepared for your week?", "What do your meals look like?", "Do you have groceries?", "What does your workouts look like?", "Are you going to the gym?", "Are your gym clothes clean?", "Do you have to go scrounge through your room to find your tennis shoes?"... If you get everything ready, you don't have to go fight and take that extra time to go find it. Just leave your tennis shoes by the door. There have been times where I woke up at five o'clock in the morning trying to get to CrossFit and I couldn't find my shoes. It frustrates me, and I should have done it the night before. So all of these little things can help you have a successful week. Run to the grocery store.
I love to have my house picked up before tomorrow. Tomorrow is like a work day, I stay home, we have four girls, we homeschool, I work from home. But if my kitchen isn't clean and I don't have the laundry put away, I feel like I wake up in a mess of chaos because my home is also my office. So you wouldn't want to go to the office and have a big mess. Treat the rest of your life the same way. "Is your food prepped?", "How are your goals going and how are you doing?", "What keto questions do you have?"... I'll come on and do a live tomorrow night, so if you've got some specific questions, ask those questions below and I will come on and answer anything that you have. If you've got specific goals or if you're brand new post "New" below.
I would love to connect and just help you on your journey. Whether you need a foods list, or just anything, whatever it is, I want to help you. Our family has been on this journey for almost six years and I feel incredible.
As a mom, I feel stronger now, than I was in high school or college. I just feel better. And that comes with making good choices, that comes with moving your body, getting sleep and drinking your water. It all boils down to the decisions that you're making every single day.
And most people know what they're supposed to do. You know what you're supposed to do to get you to your goal. Like that saying, you don't rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems. If your systems aren't set up, if you're not getting up when your alarm clock goes off, if you're not reading to fill your mind right, if you don't have a system in place to choose better foods because your fridge is full of junk food. That system needs to be changed. Example, if you don't work out because you hit your alarm clock or your snooze button. You woke up late and you had to hurry to get out the door, then that system needs to be changed.
So I just wanted to come on here and encourage you. I am here to help, so ask anything that you need. Continue to tune into the page for recipes and tips and tricks and encouragement. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday. Go plan your meals, it will help you so much and just bring peace over your home and you'll feel empowered. You'll feel incredible. You won't grab the doughnuts or go through the drive thru and grab the Big Gulp or supersize me fry. Because you are in control and you're going to make the better choices. You're going to put these systems in place and you're going to dominate your goals.
So I hope you have a wonderful day and we'll talk to you soon.
