Good morning! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. I am making my ketones for the morning and I almost squirted it out of the package. We have a busy weekend and we're going to dive into the book in a second. We have people traveling to our home because we're doing a virtual event. So people from all over the world are joining us. We are celebrating the year, and we're doing some education around Ketones. It's going to be fun and it's also themed. What's super fun is, we are doing a Disney theme this year, hence all of my outfits are behind me.
We're doing original Disney today, and we were supposed to be Dalmatians as a family but our outfits did not come. So now I have to wear a Winnie the Pooh outfit. Then we are royalty on Saturday, I will be Cinderella and my husband will be the Prince. We are also doing Pixar on the third day, and we're going to be the Incredibles. We are learning, we're going to be having fun and it's going to be great. I'm curious, what are you doing this weekend? It's Friday, so Happy Friday!...
All right! We are diving into the book, "The 5-Second Rule" by Mel Robbins. We are on chapter eight, and it's a pretty short chapter. She's just going to give you a challenge and it's up to you to use it. There are different ways where you can use the challenge, she's very straightforward with it. I will give you some ideas so that you can get started today.
But before that, where are you tuning in from? I really want to know if you're using the 5-second rule and if it has helped you in any way. Send me a message. I'd love to know what you've used it on or how it's helped you. I actually used it yesterday, I do it a lot actually. There are a lot of things I actually don't want to do, but I know I need to do, and so I use the rule just in lots of different areas of my life... I've been wanting to do some more different things on social media lately. I can take a picture and do a live video, but doing things like IG reels and different things just requires extra effort. But I told myself, "You know what? I'm going to do it"... I got out of the shower yesterday, and even if I didn't look how I really wanted to, I still said, "I'm going to do it".
So I counted 5-4-3-2-1, I found one video, I practiced and I did it. If you didn't see it, it was a Mariah Carey singing one. So even in little things like that, I tell myself I want to do something. 5-4-3-2-1, I don't care how I look and it doesn't have to be perfect. It doesn't even have to be on point, I'm just going to do it.
Every time I come on a live video, there are times where I feel like I don't look the greatest, or I probably should shower, or fix my face. But I just count, "5-4-3-2-1 Start!". I've already committed to doing it, and it's a DMO (daily method of operation) in my life... And so here's what she said, I love this quote. It said, "Whether you think that you can or you can't, you're right" by Henry Ford... If you don't believe that you can do it, you will not do it. If you believe that you can do it, there's no timeframe for it. But consistent action over time will get you to where you want to go.
She said, "Change is simple. It's not easy". We also use that in our business, and I would say "Listen, this isn't easy but there's a simple process to it"...
By the way, I was talking to you earlier about having a virtual event. I've got people flying and driving into our home, it's a themed event. There are people from all over the world joining us. We're all being educated, we're celebrating, ending the year, and also talking about the new year. Every day is a themed day so everybody that's coming to my home is dressing up. Everybody on zoom will also be dressing up. I'm doing Winnie the Pooh, we have original Disney characters today, royalties on Saturday, and then Pixar on Sunday. That's why I'm hiding in my bedroom most of the time because it's quieter. My whole room or my whole house is this knotty pine...
Alright! So "Change is simple. Not easy", but I don't like the word easy. Usually, there's a simple process, but most people just don't like the timeframe or waiting. Some are not willing to do the extra effort, the consistency, and the time.
Going back she said, "Here's what I want you to know, the fastest way to implement the 5-Second rule is to start by using it as she intended it for, it's the wakeup challenge"...
How many of you have a hard time waking up on your first alarm? She said, "I'm going to give you the wake-up challenge. Tomorrow in the morning, I want you to use the rule. Just set your alarm clock thirty minutes earlier than you normally would wake up. When it goes off, you have to count 5-4-3-2-1, get out of bed! Before your mind tells you 'I'm too tired, 'It's too early, or 'It's too cold'. Here's why, number one, there's no wiggle room. The challenge is straightforward. It's just you and the alarm clock 5-4-3-2-1. If you fail, it's because you made the decision to blow off the five-second rule. Number two, if you can change your morning routine, you can change anything"...
This is why I often talk about this book, The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. We did this book around May or June, it said, "Change your morning, change your life". If you are not getting the results that you want if you don't have a positive mindset, and you go into your day and you feel like you're always behind or you just spiral out of control. Then you need to own your morning. And the way that you're going to get up earlier to be able to read and do the Miracle Morning, is to set your alarm clock earlier.
You can do the (5-4-3-2-1) morning challenge, get your butt out of bed, and then read the Miracle Morning. It's an incredible book, "Own your morning, own your day"... Then number three, she said "I want you to experiment with a concept called activation energy, and feel how hard it really is to push yourself to do simple things. In a minimum amount of energy required to begin a chemical reaction, chemists have found that this initial amount of energy is much higher than the average amount of energy needed to keep the reaction going. What does that have to do with this whole concept? The initial amount of energy to push yourself out of bed is much higher than the energy that you need to exert once you're up. You might say you're tired. But when you start to count backward in the beginning, there's a chain reaction that not only awakens the prefrontal cortex but also gets you ready to make a physical, initial huge push"...
She actually has science that explained why this works. So if you hit the snooze, if you're not owning your morning, if you're not reading, if you wish you had more time or wishing you're a morning person. It's a choice, just count 5-4-3-2-1! Go set your alarm clock thirty minutes early, that's the challenge! Get out of bed and then you're going to start learning how to own your day and own your morning.
She just talked about the power of when you do that, it's going to give you this initial push. You're going to feel great the rest of your day... There's a ton of stories, it's actually a short chapter of how people used it. Basically, she said, "Stop telling yourself 'I'm too tired, 'It's too cold', 'It's too hot', 'It's rainy', or 'It's too late', and let's go!"... So all of this is setting you up for these next few chapters. It's going to talk about "How to become the most productive person that you know". And then we have, "Improving your health", we all need that. There's also, "Increasing productivity", "Pursuing passion", and "Ending anxiety".
So continue to follow along. The challenge she gave you is, tomorrow, set your alarm clock thirty minutes early or whatever time you want. Count 5-4-3-2-1, say it, and get your butt out of bed. Think about the things that you want to do that morning, like "I actually have time to sit down and read", "I have time to have some coffee", "I actually have time to have a conversation with my spouse", "I actually have time to get ready", "I have time to think, map out my day, pack my lunch and to prepare"...
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. But what if you could have an extra amount of time and you could own your morning. You're going to dive into wherever you're going, like an office, you're a teacher, you're a nurse, or if you stay home, whatever it is. If you could dive into your morning with a positive mindset, "Yes! I got this. I can do this". Then you're going to make better choices...
It's an incredible book, continue to tune in and reach out if you have any questions. I have a "Text" campaign, and I'm going to start on Monday. I'll be sending out text messages, I'll post them later today so just watched my stories. You will be able to receive inspirational quotes every single day. It is not to bombard your phone, but just to help you throughout your day as reminders... I hope you have an incredible Friday! I am going to go get into my Winnie the Pooh outfit, so if you want to have some fun laughs, just watch my stories all weekend. We're going to learn a lot and have fun. I appreciate you all, thank you for tuning in. Have an incredible morning and we'll talk to you soon!
