Welcome to the Keto Mom page. Happy Monday! If you're tuning in live, I hope you're having an incredible day, and an incredible weekend. We're diving into the book, "The 5-Second Rule" by Mel Robbins... For those of you who are on the Keto mom page, first of all, thank you and good morning. We had an incredible weekend here in our home and actually, it's not yet done. We're still going today, hence why I'm in my jammies. We had our team and tons of people here, I think we had around seventeen people, including our kids.

Welcome to Day 10 of our Book 9 session
We did a virtual event, we watched it here in our home with a whole bunch of people. Everybody got in Thursday night, and we're still going strong. We watched an event all weekend, and today's the last day. We are all learning and growing, and there was also education. It was a celebration for the last year, and then more of a focus of where we're going...

So I've got ladies in the other room, I also slept in today, actually all of us did. We will not be starting for a little bit, we start in one hour and I'm super comfy cozy right now. We dressed up, if you saw our Cinderella picture, we did fun themes.

We did original Disney, Disney royalty, and then we did Pixar Disney. Today, I just have straight jammies and puffy eyes. But last night was great, we talked, we learned, we cried and we reflected. It was really good, we had a really great weekend. How was your weekend? I'd love to know. And we also got a storm! We are from Minnesota, and we got a crazy snowstorm. By Wednesday it's supposed to be about 60 degrees. If you were impacted by the tornadoes, if you have family that was affected, we have been praying for all the families that have been impacted. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know or let our family know. If there's a "GoFundMe", or people who are super close to you that lost their homes, I would love for you to share. Just send me a message and share, if there's something that we can do to help specific people that you are connected to...

Alright! We're diving into this book, "The 5-Second Rule" by Mel Robbins. I was not able to go on the live video during the weekend, I apologize. If you don't know what I'm talking about and you're new to my page. My goal is to go through a book almost every single morning.
Continue To Educate Yourself! Leaders Are Learners!

During the weekends though, we get a little bit crazy. Anyway, throughout the week, we do talk about the different chapters. My hope is to give you an action step, or a thought to think about so that you can take action. Today is about health, and the 5 second rule is simply that, "Five seconds". I would highly recommend that you get the book for yourself for Christmas, or get it for somebody else.

Leaders are learners, and if you feel like you're not a leader, then you are! Because if you have goals, dreams and visions, the first person that you have to lead is yourself. You can't lead others until you can lead yourself, in your mindset, or just in general.

You are a leader! And it's important that you continue to educate yourself. Read, learn and grow, so you can share it with other people. It will just naturally come out of you as you internalize it. Maybe more with a smile, your actions, people will start seeing results, your attitude and how you treat others. All of those things will come out of you as you are growing as a person, as you're growing your mindset... This is truly an incredible book, and we'll finish it by the end of the month or sooner than that.

And now we are on Part Three, "How to become the most productive person you know". Does anybody else need to be more productive? Me! I'm super productive, and I don't like to waste time at all. So she said, "In this next part of the book, we're going to talk about three things. First, you'll learn the secret to improving your health. Number two, you'll learn how to increase your productivity. And then three, you'll dive into the subject that plagues almost all people, Procrastination"...

The real problem is how you're feeling about the diet

So she talked about health, either you run your day or your day runs you. I always say, "Either you own your morning, or your morning owns you"... So the 5 second rule can get you out of bed, get you to the gym, say no to the donut, or even get you pass the fast food restaurant. It's 5 seconds, just count backwards 5-4-3-2-1, say No! Before your emotions take control...

Okay! Chapter Nine is "Improving your health". She said, "Courage is the commitment to begin without any guarantees of success. The fact is that thinking about becoming healthier won't make you healthier. Even meditating, which is a mental exercise still requires that you do the work. This is not getting around us, you must take action to get healthy"...

The number one question I get all around health, whether it's fat loss, gaining muscle, getting to the gym, getting started, or finishing. This is the what I labeled the video today, "The problem is never the diet. The problem is how you're feeling about the diet"... In the beginning of this book, she talked about our feelings. I've also said this quote many times, "As I think so I feel. As I feel so I do"... And so when people ask me questions, one of the questions I will ask back is, "Are you reading?", or "Are you learning?"...

This is why leaders are learners, and leading yourself is important. If you think negatively about yourself, you're going to feel negatively about yourself. Your actions are going to be negative, and therefore you're going to get what you don't want. Start thinking positive, by reading books, listening to podcasts and just believing in yourself. "As I think so I feel". My feelings are going to reflect more positivity. I'm not going to look at something in a negative light. I'm going to act out of my positive feelings, therefore I'm going to get the results that I want consistently over time. Your feelings are super important.

There's no wishing for it, You have to take action!

Alright! So she tells a ton of stories of how people took the 5 second rule and implemented it into their health. I'm not going to read the stories to you, but she said, "It's every single diet, exercise program, gym circuit, workout class, physical therapy regimen, cross training routine, meditation program and yoga flow, will improvise your health"... It will improve your health, all of those things will improve your health.

But here's the catch, you have to do it. You can't just think about it, hope for it, or just wish for it. A lot of you are probably going to say, "I've got a couple parties. We're going to end the year and then I'm going to start in the new year". That's awesome, but the key to starting is not just thinking about it.

Visualization is powerful, your words are powerful, writing it down is powerful, and watching other people is great. You're learning, but you have to do it. There's no getting around it. There's no wishing for it, like "I hope I lose the twenty pounds this year", or "I hope I can get to the gym. I got a gym membership". You have to do it!... Alright! She said, "The moment that you accept the fact that we just want to do the things that easy. You realize the secret to getting healthier is simple. You'll never feel like it, you have to do it"...

I love to get out of bed. I love to get out of bed early because I've learned that when I do, I'm productive. I read and I get my mindset right, but prior to working on my own mindset, I hated getting out of bed. I'd tell myself I'm not a morning person and I would sleep as long as possible. Until I realized that it was not serving me. Mainly it was my husband kicking me out of bed and saying "Listen, get up! You said you want to be a morning person, right?"... So she said, "If you want to lose weight, follow a diet and regular exercise. There's only one thing that you must do. Stop thinking about how you feel about it. Your feelings don't matter. The only thing that matters is that you do it"...

Don't let your feelings control you
So if you're like, "What happens if I can never have a Twinkie ever again?", "I can't ever have that pizza, this is terrible". It's the way that you're looking at it. And just so you know, a majority of recipes on the page and on the blog (ketomomsecrets.com) are all low carb, ketofied or healthier versions.

You can't look at your diet or lifestyle and say, "I can never have that". You're going to get right to your feelings. You're going to feel deprived and you're not going to do it. This is your health journey, and for some of you, it's not even just going to the gym or making a healthy choice. I had a girl message me yesterday and she said, "This is serious for my husband".

Some of you have gotten to the end point, where you've almost hit rock bottom and you're like, "I don't have a choice. I have to get healthy or the next thing is not good"...

So she talked about, we think and we feel so much. What are you thinking about? Don't let your feelings control you. It's the action steps you have take every day. (5-4-3-2-1) Say No! (5-4-3-2-1) Say Yes! (5-4-3-2-1) Get Up! I'm going to take five minutes to read... I talk about this book all the time, The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. You can get it for yourself. You can do six minutes in the morning, or sixty minutes in the morning. It gives you action steps to improve your morning and own your day. Whether you do it for six or sixty, or whether you read for one minute. You don't have to read an entire chapter, open up the book and read a paragraph. Just do something, go to the gym and walk on the treadmill for five minutes. Don't go through the drive thru, put cheese sticks and nuts and whatever you have, just pack yourself a lunch. Don't bring the can of soda with you, but grab a water bottle. (5-4-3-2-1) All done! It takes action.

Take that extra action, and go the extra mile

Mel Robbins shared a story of a girl, she said, "Once she realized that she was never going to feel like working out, this girl was able to find a five-second window of opportunity. She pushed herself to act upon it. The exercise is one-hundred percent mental. Your body won't go where your mind doesn't push it. That's why the 5 second rule is a game changer for your health. (5-4-3-2-1) Get to the gym. (5-4-3-2-1) Put down the dooughnut and grab some chicken. (5-4-3-2-1) Walk away from the bakery, even though the bread and dessert smell incredible"...

So then she shared a story about a man who was on the brink of life and death, and he had to make the change. He gave it five hundred and twenty nine (529) straight days of pushing himself. That's almost two years of being solely focused on his health, and he did it. There are more stories and there is something I want to read to you at the end.

Here it is, "Life is about making choices, and I have said over and over in this book that you can always choose how you act. If your goals are to get healthier, then you need to do it, usually straightforward. Pick a plan, follow it, any plan will do, and then (5-4-3-2-1) Go! The only thing that you need to choose after that, is choosing each and every day to do it. Even though it is really hard. It's not easy, It's simple. I didn't say that it would be easy. I promise you it would be worth it.

Exercise and Health comes down to one simple rule. You don't have to feel like it. You have to do it"... You don't have to feel like it. Like "Oh, I have my period today, I just need chocolate"... She wrote this quote, "Go the extra mile. It's never crowded", I like that...
Figure out what you want, plan on it, take action on it

Okay! Pay attention to your feelings, they really should not be running your day. The key is taking action every single day. You know what to do. There is nothing more googled and sought out topic than "Health". You can find books, podcasts, articles and go walk into any bookstore and you're going to see an entire area about "Health". There's never been a topic that has more tools that we read, and learn about. You have to take what you learned and put it into play.

My encouragement to you is to figure out what you want. The best time of the year is coming up, besides Christmas, and that's the new year. If that's what it takes for you to just sit for these next few weeks, reflect and just ask yourself, "What do I want?". It's not going to be easy, it's simple.

I know what I have to do, and I need to be committed. Not following my feelings, but counting (5-4-3-2-1) and taking action... All right! As always message me with questions and I'm here to help. Whether it's about food, keto tips, tricks, mindset, homeschooling or parenting. I get questions about lots of different things. Just continue to tune into the page, I appreciate you. I have one more day of learning with these amazing ladies and it's been super great. I hope you have a great morning and we'll talk to you soon. I appreciate you!
