Keto Mom here!
We don't live in fear, and I don't ever want to live in a life of Fear. I want to live a life of Faith. I don't want to miss the what ifs, I don't want to regret things. And so I need to make the best choices possible, and when opportunities are presented to me, I need to go after them. I have to make the decision to step forward. I have faith that I can do it. I'm not going to quit. I'm going to be a positive person. I am not going to live in the past. I'm not going to, blame, shame, or justify things from my past or the people that were my past because I'm going to own my life.

Good morning! Welcome to the Keto Mom page, we are diving into almost the last chapter of the book, the last out of the seven decisions. We are on chapter nine, and he is at the seventh decision that will help you on your personal journey to success. As you're tuning in, where are you tuning in from? I probably should start off the day with a joke don't you think? Okay, here is the joke for you this morning. "Why did the bacon laugh?", "Because the egg cracked a yolk"... That's so funny, you can tell your kids that later. So again good morning, we are finishing up "The Traveler's Gift" by Andy Andrews. If you are brand new, welcome to the Keto Mom page. It's a great morning, and it's actually beautiful out. I'm from Minnesota, we've got two daughters who are at volleyball practice. They have to get up at 6am, so I have to go pick them up super soon. Tuesdays are our busiest, we have volleyball, we have horse lessons, ballet, and then my husband has softball tonight.
How is your summer going? I honestly just feel like chatting. We're like midway through over, some of your kids start in August, but we don't start school till September. I should probably talk about the book. Are you enjoying the book? I'll pick two winners later, for my mom fuel. Tuesday's are super busy days, but I love it. I never complain, I'm super thankful. And if I didn't want to do it, I wouldn't do it, that's the power of choice. This book is incredible, in fact, this is my favorite chapter and I love this book for perspective. If you're brand new, and you're asking what in the world are they talking about?
We share all recipes, we share everything that works for a Keto, low carb lifestyle. But I believe that if you don't work on your mindset, then you're not going to get anything else.
Most of you are here for fat loss, and you're just going to go on a vicious cycle over and over again, if you cannot get your mindset right. You work on your mindset and on making better choices, by learning from others. Watching people, listening to podcasts, really paying attention to the things that you are allowing inside your mind. Which, by the way, is why we're going through "Winning the War in your Mind" by Craig Groeschel, next month. This was the book that was chosen and we're going through it in August. If you want to grab it, grab it. Otherwise just tune in every single morning here, starting August first... So just so you know, "Winning the War in your Mind" is biblical. One of our pastors, my husband used to work for this church. It's called Life Church, and we lived in Oklahoma for five years. It was the best thing that ever happened to our marriage and to our life. We have some incredible friends from there, great mentors. But anyways, for those who have asked, yes, a pastor wrote this book. So I'm just letting you know, because some people don't do that, and that's fine. It's up to you.
But in the book he says this "Your mindset is a battlefield and the battle for your life is always won or lost in your mind"... That's just one sentence of the book and it is great. Your mind is a battlefield, you battle negative and positive choices. Things you shouldn't do every single day in your mind, and ultimately you decide. The battle for your life is always won or lost in your mind.
So that's the book we're going through in August. You can tune in every single day here, I will read it to you. Alright going back, chapter nine of "The Traveler's Gift". We're almost done, there's two more chapters after this. You are going to get the basic understanding of the seven decisions, right or after today. And then we'll review the decisions over the next few days, leaving and ending the month.
This is more of a fictional book, and our character is David. He goes into the past and he meets key characters or key people from history and he's given a decision. He's given perspective on life... So our character met lots of different people from the past such as, Anne Frank, Abraham Lincoln, one of the generals from the Civil War...
He met Angel Gabriel in this chapter. He is on a quest, or on a little journey with an angel, and he's asking a ton of questions. He doesn't know where he's at, and he asks "Am I in heaven? Where am I?". He's standing in front of large buildings, and it looks like a warehouse full of things. David is asking "Why am I here?"... And so the angel says to David "Do you consider yourself a man of faith, does faith guide your everyday actions and emotions? All men are driven by one of two things, Fear or Faith. One or the other, for both are the same. Fear is the expectation of an event that has not come to pass, or the belief of something that cannot be seen or touched. A man of fear lives always on the edge of insanity. A man of faith lives in perpetual reward"... Fear or Faith, both Fear and Faith can't coexist. You live in one or the other. You're either going down the road of fear, like "I can't", "I won't", "What if", "What if I don't want to?"... Faith is "I can do this", "I might not see it, but I can see it". "I'm gonna go after it"... There's no what ifs, it's the battlefield of the mind and it is so powerful.
"The reward of faith is to see what one has believed? Do you consider yourself a man of faith?"... So then David says "No, I consider myself a man of reason"... "Reason ever makes room for miracles. Faith releases miracles, and in final comparison, Faith is a sounder guide than reason. Reason can only be stretched so far, but Faith has no limits. The only limit to your realization of tomorrow is the doubt to which you hold fast today"...
You're holding yourself back. If you are a person of reason, like not going to do it if you don't show me proof. Do you have any Faith in yourself or others because if you don't, you're going to fall into reason and probably not go after the things that you want. Alright, let's keep going. So he talks about circumstances and there's just a lot of blaming, shaming and justifying in life in general. He says "Circumstances do not push or pull, they are daily lessons to be studied and glean for new knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge and wisdom that is applied will bring about brighter tomorrows. A person who is depressed is spending too much time thinking about the way things are now, and not enough time thinking about how he wants to be"...
Are you so focused on how you look today or how you feel today, that you cannot even get out of your mind and go I can be thirty pounds lighter. I can be stronger, I see myself playing with my kids or my grandkids. I do not have to be okay with this today, I have to make the decision to step forward.
I have faith that I can do it, I'm not going to quit, I'm going to be a positive person, I'm going to make better choices. I am not going to live in the past. I'm not going to, blame, shame, or justify things from my past or the people that were my past because I'm going to own my life...
That's what we need to do. All right, so he's walking around in this warehouse. Is this warehouse real? I don't know, but it's going to give you perspective on life. So he's in a warehouse, and he's picking things up. David asks "What is this?"... He picked up a picture of some kids, the pictures had names on it. It was the two names that he and his wife were going to name their other children, if they chose to have children, but chose not to, because they couldn't afford it.
So he's looking through this whole warehouse, he's picking up things asking, "Why does this say this is the cure for cancer?", "What is this document, and why are these things here?"... The angel Gabriel said "This is the place that never was. This is the place where we keep all of the things that we're about to be delivered, just as a person stopped working, and praying for them. The contents up here or in this warehouse are filled with the dreams and goals of the less courageous"... So David was holding two pictures in his hand of the children that they wanted to have, but they didn't. Because they said they couldn't afford it. Or there were things in the warehouse that people were praying for, believing for and working hard for, but then they quit. They quit because it was too hard and they didn't want to go after it. Circumstances got in the way. They didn't have the faith, but they ran by fear. Gabriel says "Everything up here could have been, but never was because people stopped"... And I remember reading this going "What did I quit on, what have I not seen come to pass because I quit. I was too afraid, we couldn't afford it"... I thought it was powerful that he gave this man the visualization of the children.
You wanted more children, but you you didn't do it. And then David says "Can I please have this?"... Gabriel says "No you can't. The time for their arrival had passed, the opportunity is missed and there is no second chances"...
First of all, I hope you believe that you're here for a reason. Our family is a family of faith, and we share the things that happen in our life. Whether it's here or in stories, you're going to get more of our real life on our stories. There are a lot of things I don't talk about, that I probably should. We don't live in fear, and I don't ever want to live in a life of fear. I want to live a life of faith, I don't want to miss the what ifs, I don't want to regret things. And so I need to make the best choices possible, and when opportunities are presented to me, I need to go after them.
You're here probably because you want to get healthy. That's awesome, because if you're not healthy, strong and well, then everything else in your life probably won't go the way you want it to, because you don't feel well. We make rash and poor decisions because we don't feel well.
The only thing you work on for the next year is your health, making better choices, and cutting out the sugar. Sometimes it stinks, sometimes you don't feel like not grabbing the cupcake at the birthday party. But what if you missed the one opportunity, because you didn't feel well. I didn't go play with my kids because I didn't feel well, I didn't go to the party or the game. I didn't ride on the rides because I wasn't strong enough. This book is great and this chapter is incredible. It really makes you think. Oh, he says this. Okay. You must know he says that "In the game of life, nothing is less important than the score of half time. The tragedy of life is not the man losing, but that he almost wins. Why do we quit? Why did I ease off? Why did I deter everything in my life. As a human you deter and ease off because of lack of understanding. You quit because of lack of faith. For one thing, you do not understand that constant detours do not bring a man into a presence of greatness. Easing off does not make the going easier, neither does it guide to the desired destination. Most men ease off when things get rough. Most slow down when the road appears treacherous. These are the times when you must feel the weight of your future on your shoulders. And the throbbing unstoppable strength of destiny coursing through your veins and you have to go after it"...
No more what ifs, no more slowing down, no more tomorrow because you might not have tomorrow. You have today, so maybe there's something that you have to do today that you haven't done that you feel like you need to do. You need to make the decision, you need to make the phone call. You need to say something, do something go after something.
Today might be the day where you draw a line in the sand ego and say, "I'm not going to get to that warehouse and see the things that I said no to, the doors I shut, the things I didn't do because I wasn't willing to work on myself"...
Moms, I'm just saying moms because I was that mom, when I had babies that I was not willing to go to the gym. I was exhausted, I wasn't willing to work on myself because I felt bad. It's time for you to take care of yourself, because if you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anybody else. All right, we're almost done. You will study one decision at a time. So Gabriel is saying
"I gave you Seven decisions. If you work on it, you will have a successful life. The future as you choose, is yours. But be warned, future is a future as you choose it. Your future is your future"... The seventh decision for success is "I will persist without exception"...
"Today, I choose to persist without exception. I will persist without exception, I will continue despite exhaustion. I'm not going to quit, I'm not going to give up. I will persist without exception. I will focus on results, and I will persist without exception. I am a person of great faith and I will not live my life in fear"... That's it for that chapter, it was super great. We've got two more chapters and then we're going to review the decisions. Then we'll talk on what's to come next. I hope you love the book, and I hope you guys have an incredible day. Let me know if you have any questions. If you have any questions about Keto, low carb or how to get started, I will answer all of those questions in the morning. We are reading and getting our mindset right, because this will help everything else that you choose.
It will help you on your path to greatness, and it will help you make better choices. Your mindset is your battlefields. Fear or Faith, you can't have both. You've got to choose.
So that's all I got. I hope you have an incredible day, continue to tune into the page for all the recipes that you need. I hope you have a great morning and we'll talk to you soon.
