The Wealth Money Can't Buy

We're diving into "The Wealth Money Can't Buy" by Robin Sharma. It dives into how wealth can be found in areas like relationships, personal growth, health, and inner peace. The focus is on creating a life of purpose, joy, and fulfillment rather than chasing only financial success.

Deep Growth Is Meant To Feel Weird!

Doing something new or changing habits will absolutely feel weird at first. That's because you're stepping out of your comfort zone and breaking old patterns. It's natural for it to feel uncomfortable, but that's a sign you're growing

That initial discomfort is a necessary part of transforming into the person you want to become.

“All change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end."

STORY TIME

My second daughter joined me at the gym early in the morning, which we started going about six months ago. This morning, while she was cold-plunging, she asked why was it so hard to be healthy and to do these healthy habits. I then explained that it will get easier.

It's hard to get up in the morning because you want to sleep in. Messy in the middle, like the actual workout is really messy and tiring. But then it's all glorious at the end and we're always thankful that we did it. It’s always worth it in the end, that feeling of accomplishment, the energy boost, and the pride in knowing you showed up for yourself.

The hardest part is often just getting started, but once you're in it, you realize it's part of the journey.

Doing the hard things now is like prioritizing health, working on your mindset and changing your habits. It may all feel uncomfortable in the moment, but it prevents much harder consequences later, like poor health or unfulfilled goals. It’s about trading short-term discomfort for long-term well-being and success.

By tackling challenges head-on, you're setting yourself up for a future where you’ll thank yourself for making those tough choices today.

"Intense personal change and outright human transformation, are meant to be scary and difficult and confusing at first. It wouldn't be real change if it wasn't, and there will be no value if you're actually not doing the work".

THE SPACE SHUTTLE

Just like how they launch a shuttle, for the first 60 seconds, it's going to use the most fuel because it has to get started. It has to push past the gravity and launch itself from nothing to the max capacity to launch itself into outer space. The first 60 seconds is key, because it's got to push past everything that's pushing against it.

The beginning of any journey, whether it’s weight loss, personal growth, or changing habits, requires the most energy and effort. It’s in those first moments that you have to push past the resistance and all the things holding you back. Once you break through, momentum starts to build, and it becomes easier to keep moving forward.

The key is to commit to those tough first steps, knowing that with persistence, it gets easier as you progress.

"When it comes to you making a change that you must make to live the life you most desire, you're sort of like the space shuttle. You need to exert a ton of energy and do hard work to overcome your previous ways of operating".

Push past the old habits and the excuses. You're going to have to do something that feels weird, uncomfortable, you might be afraid of but in order to if you have goals and you want to read. Reach the goals you can't do the same things you've been doing up until now.

"Is it hard? Yes, it's super hard"

Going to a gym that you don't know anybody at, or buying different foods at the grocery store and prepping your meals. That might be something weird because everybody goes out for lunch. Saying no to the donut might also be weird or hard because you always say yes to the donut.

Instead of scrolling through social media or watching Netflix, go play a board game with your kids. All these things might be weird and hard, but you can do it.

"The change you're making is worthwhile when you do the hard things. New habits, skills, and behaviors will get easier to implement as the days go on. Things always get easier with practice".

"Just because you couldn't do something yesterday doesn't mean you can't do it today. You're one day better and 24 hours stronger"

The beginning is always the hardest, but once you build momentum, those new habits start to feel more natural. Each day you practice, the resistance lessens, and you grow stronger. The key is consistency—showing up even when it’s tough. The hard things you’re doing today are laying the foundation for a better tomorrow.

In time, what once felt impossible will become part of your routine, and you’ll look back and see how far you’ve come.

Growing in an area of your life is going to feel uncomfortable, but you need to go through that to get to where you want to go.
