SEE FOOD AS MEDICINE

"Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food, instructed by the father of medicine".

"Your diet is profoundly influenced by your general well being. All have been scientifically shown to be a strong fatigue fighter and to deliver the energy that you need to be able to function throughout the day".

Food is Fuel

It emphasizes viewing food as a tool to nourish your body and provide the energy and nutrients needed for optimal performance, health, and well-being.

Approach food with intention and gratitude. Consider its role in strengthening, healing, and energizing you rather than focusing solely on taste or convenience.

We know that food affects our body. Food influences not only our physical health but also our energy levels, mental clarity, and overall mindset.

The types of food you eat affects how your body generates and sustains energy. Your brain thrives on nutrient-rich foods, while poor choices can lead to brain fog and sluggish thinking.

What you eat affects your mood and resilience. Processed "comfort foods" may temporarily soothe emotions but often lead to energy crashes, guilt, and even stress. Snack on brain-healthy options like nuts, seeds, and fruit when you need a boost.

Aligning your eating habits with this knowledge allows you to show up as your best self, not only physically but mentally and emotionally.

"I simply encourage you to see food as a category of medicine and eat what's best for you. Your mindset, your mood, your energy, your vitality will thank you forever".

STORY TIME

You're on the Keto Mom page and we often talk about food. If you keep making the wrong choices and can't seem to lose the weight, then always remember that "What gets measured gets managed".

This highlights the importance of tracking and evaluating progress to achieve desired outcomes. Tracking creates responsibility, encouraging consistency and effort. Seeing measurable improvement, even small wins, builds momentum and confidence.

So if you're challenged to choose the right options then start tracking everything that you eat. Find yourself an accountability partner, write down what you ate and send it to them.

If you have to write down everything you're eating then there's a good chance that you might not want to eat that new pumpkin Reese peanut butter cup that just came out. Writing things down and sending it to somebody might make you think twice about making the wrong food choices.

You might think twice about getting that extra bowl of ice cream, going through the drive thru, getting that extra fountain drink and fries.

Knowing someone else will see your choices naturally encourages you to think twice about indulging in something you might regret later. The act of writing and sharing gives you a moment to pause and reflect, making impulsive decisions less likely. This pause allows you to weigh the pros and cons, often leading to better choices

There are also some people that physically don't have that off switch. They don't feel full until they're way overly full and they've over consumed calories. It would help if you portion your plate, because if you measure it and you stay accountable to somebody, then this will help you choose better.

It's all a process, and it's a choice that you get to make every single day.

It's crazy how many things we worry about in life that we have no control over. I am guilty of this. There are a lot of things that I have no control over, so there's no sense in worrying.

But with health, especially with food, a lot of it are things that we have full control over. You might say you can't afford healthy food, but majority of people's weight gain is actually because of excessive eating.

You can get resourceful, like buying in bulk or buying at the farmer's markets. If you're a "snacker" then go grab some low carb wraps and some peanut butter. There are things that you can eat that aren't massively expensive and you're still choosing better.

Stop buying the candy bars and Debbie snacks. Stop grabbing the treats when you're at a celebration. Food is addictive. I think that somebody needs to check our food industry because we need to take control.

Don't mess up good for perfect. Do the best that you can with the things you can control. Drink more water, drop the cereal in the morning, choose eggs or a protein shake. You can get a lettuce wrap or low carb wraps. Stop eating the pizza, or the excess sugary carbs on your dinner plate. Eat more proteins, veggies, and salads.

In general, eat less food, move your body, drink your water. Accountability is important, and what gets measured gets managed.
