We're diving into "The Wealth Money Can't Buy" by Robin Sharma. The book encourages virtues such as kindness, forgiveness, resilience, and mindfulness while pursuing life goals with intention and authenticity. It's about crafting a legacy built on character and contribution, not just financial success.
Money or riches can buy whatever you want, but as we get older and wiser, we know that wealth will have different forms. One form of wealth is our health. Having a healthy family, spouse, and kids is true wealth. Wealth can be health in the form of physical, emotional, and spiritual.
A healthy family, loving relationships, and well-being create a foundation for joy and fulfillment that money can never buy. Investing in these areas leads to a rich, meaningful life.
Your mindset is very important! We know that it's not great to feel anxious, worried, or fearful. And when you live in that state of your mind, it becomes destructive.
PRACTICE THE NAKED SUNBATHING RULE!
"The point I'm encouraging you to consider today, as you work on building the second form of wealth, is the dazzling value of spending time in the sunshine".
"Moderate sunshine, 10 to 20 minutes a day. Sun exposure increases your serotonin levels, which increase your happiness level and vitamin D".
"Allowing sunlight into your eyes increases mental focus, overall daylight alert, or daytime alertness, and depth of your sleep".
STORY TIME
I'm in Florida, the Sunshine State. But I was born and raised in Minnesota, and lived there over half of my life. I've also lived in Oklahoma and Florida before this time. We've moved a handful of times, and we actually came back here.
I say all of that, because winters in Minnesota are no longer like what they used to when I was young and it can be brutal. Some people get excited for the snow, but there's no sun for months and you might get a little bit sad. Some people get crabby because they don't see the sun.
One form of wealth is getting your body outside and under the sun. It rejuvenates your body and it's good for you.
Practicing the naked sunbathing rule suggests embracing who you truly are without masks or pretense, allowing yourself to be fully seen, flaws and all. Practicing this mindset can lead to deeper connections, personal growth, and a more fulfilling life.
So go and get yourself out under the sun for 10 to 20 minutes. They say that the sunlight during a sunrise is the healthiest. A healthy dose of sunlight can strengthen the immune system. Aim for 10-20 minutes of morning sun daily, especially before 10 a.m., for maximum benefits without harmful UV exposure.
Health is wealth! You can have all the money in the world, and it's not going to matter if you don't have your health.
Money can buy comfort and convenience, but it can't replace being able to move, explore, and enjoy life's experiences.
Good health allows you to be present with loved ones and create lasting memories. When we’re healthy, we can fully engage with our families, share joyful moments, and build memories that money can’t buy. Being present means having the energy, focus, and emotional balance to show up for the people we love.
