We're diving into "The Wealth Money Can't Buy" by Robin Sharma. This book focuses on cultivating other forms of wealth, like health, meaningful relationships, personal growth, inner peace, and purposeful living.
The first form of wealth is growth mindset or learning. Learn to listen and take advice from people that have gone before you, and then take action on what you've learned.
The second form of wealth is your health.
A SWEATY WORK OUT IS NEVER A SILLY IDEA!
It energizes your body, clears your mind, and strengthens your spirit. Even when motivation is low, moving your body can transform your mood and set a positive tone for the rest of the day.
STORY TIME
How many of you woke up and said "I'm not going to work out today". I did that today! We actually had a long weekend with the girls. Amelia turned seventeen and we celebrated on Saturday. So we had an exciting, teen filled weekend.
This morning, when my alarm went off at 6am my thoughts were, "I could just sleep in today, it's fine I'll just go on Tuesday". Somehow, we always try to talk ourselves out of things.
Our minds can be our biggest obstacles. We tend to overthink, doubt, or find excuses when faced with challenges. But the key is recognizing that inner voice and choosing action anyway.
Progress starts the moment we push past our mental resistance.
"A sweaty workout is never a silly idea. Excuses are lies and procrastination is a thief".
"Don't quit! Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion. The Workout gets easier as you get going".
"The decision to do what you wanted to resist completely changes the texture, the vibe and the energy of the rest of your day".
Excuses keep us stuck, and procrastination robs us of time, opportunities, and growth. The best way to combat both is with intentional action, no matter how small.
If you had mornings where you made excuses of not going to the gym because your morning didn't start out the way you wanted it, just take a deep breath and go for a walk.
Don't make an excuse. Don't procrastinate. Just do the things that you set out to do. We break the most promises to ourselves. We speak the most lies to ourselves. Our mindset can drift really easily and tell us we're not good enough and we just believe these lies.
Our minds can be our biggest critics, but we can train ourselves to recognize those negative thoughts and replace them with truth and positivity. The more we challenge limiting beliefs, the stronger our mindset becomes.
Talk to yourself and stop making excuses. Get your booty out of bed, go for that walk, and put down that donut. We have to constantly battle procrastination, and I promise you on the other side you will feel great.
"You will always feel so much better after a spirited workout than you did before you started".
A good workout releases endorphins, clears your mind, and boosts your energy. It’s often the hardest thing to start but the most rewarding thing to finish.
