The Wealth Money Can't Buy

We're going through "The Wealth Money Can't Buy" by Robin Sharma. Starting something new can be intimidating, but the key is to just take that first step. Often, we get stuck in our heads overthinking every possible outcome, but action is what leads to clarity and progress.

HOW TO GET STARTED?

The best way to start is just get started

"You probably are resisting moving forward because you're frightened of success, failure, being ridiculed, or standing out in your peer group".

The best way to get started is simply by starting. Whether it’s fear of failure, fear of success, or fear of being judged, it’s important to push through those feelings. Even if it’s messy or imperfect, movement in any direction is better than staying stagnant. Growth and learning come from taking action, not from waiting for the perfect moment. Every step forward brings you closer to your goals and builds the confidence needed to keep going.

How do you start a book?

How do you start going to the gym?

How do you start a podcast?

How do you start being a more intentional mom or a dad?

If you want to write a book, you write the first page until it's done. If you want to lose weight, don't wait till everything is perfect, just get started.

It can be as simple as making a list of the foods that you're going to eat for this week, and just keeping it simple. Starting small and simple can lead to significant progress over time. You can make decisions that will help you become the best version of you.

THE POWER OF CHANGE

"The way to start is to start. No excuses, zero rationalizations, no postponements, zero complaints. You just exercise your human will to take the first step. All Change is hard at first, messy in the middle, gorgeous at the end, and nothing happens until you start".

The power to change lies in taking that first step. No matter how challenging it may seem, once you begin, you set things in motion. Change can feel uncomfortable and even chaotic at times, but the transformation that follows is worth it.

The most important part is just starting—without overthinking or making excuses. The journey might be hard and messy, but it’s also beautiful in the end. Taking action is the key to unlocking that change!

When you achieve that goal and reach what you want to reach, it's glorious. You can decide to take the next steps and then consistently doing it every week.

STORY TIME

Almost 10 years ago my husband wanted to do keto, he actually started way before I even was on board. Our girls were still very little and I was an exhausted mom. I loved every season that I've gone through as a mom, but I remember being tired back then. And then my husband wanted me to cook some keto meals. At that time I was the mom who was living off of pizza, chicken nuggets, corn dogs, and debbie snacks. I was surviving and I ate what the kids ate.

I have never cooked anything that wasn't out of a box or a can. I've never bought in fresh produce in my life nor have I tried anything green. My first lettuce salad or first bite of celery was when I was 32 and I'm 41 now.

At that moment I told my husband that I will do the best that I can. I will some meat and broccoli. So we didn't really clear out the pantry but we did the best we could.

I made a list of what he wanted and I taped it to my fridge...

BREAKFAST:

eggs

bacon

sausage

protein shake

LUNCH and DINNER:

hamburgers

low carb lettuce wraps.

SNACKS:

pickles

cheese sticks

beef stick

I wrote down things so I didn't have to think about it. That was the first step that we did. And then we all transitioned to eating healthier and better. I just stopped buying all the old food and snacks, like pizza and debbie snacks. We no longer kept it in the house.

There is no perfect step, it's just taking the next step to get healthy. The decision has to be made and it has to be continuously done every single day.

Celebrate the progress, not just the end goal. Because in the progress you will see change and feel better.

Celebrating progress keeps you motivated and focused on the positive changes happening along the way.

When you acknowledge the small wins, you build momentum and start to feel better, both physically and emotionally.

"This shift in mindset helps you handle challenges with more resilience, and that positivity radiates outward, bringing joy to those around you. Progress is where growth happens, not just at the finish line!"
