Full Episode Transcript:

Hey! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. Good morning, how are you? Alright! I just got done with my workout. I actually didn't, or I did a workout, but then I got caught up in reading. And then I was like, Oh my goodness! I haven't done a live video. So I'm here, good morning! How are you doing? Where are you tuning in from? For those of you who are just tuning in, every single morning we are going through a book. We're doing mindset mornings, and so I will tell you this... I was reading the book that we're going through this morning, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. We are going to wrap up chapter three that we're on, and I was thinking... This book is a great read, but I forgot that it's very wordy. I don't want to say hard, but it's just not a quick, understandable read.

Welcome to Day 8 of our Book 7 session

Does that make sense? So for a second, I thought maybe this wasn't a good book to choose because it's very wordy. It's not an easy book to explain to you if you don't physically have the book. So I'm going to do the best that I can to wrap up this chapter.

But in everything that I read, in everything that I'm learning from... I have piles of books, and sometimes I'll pick up a book, and say "I like this book", or "I don't like this book", "Can I take a nugget from this book?"... The point of anything that I read, a podcast that I listened to, or a live video of somebody that I follow, is for me to take something within it that I can apply, or take action on...

In anything that you're learning from somebody else, the point is not to just gain all this wisdom, but to put it into play. To put it into action, and to do something with it. That is how you progress forward in your own goals, you've got to do the work. And so I'm just going to tell you with this book, it's wordy, and it's written in the 1900s. But it's an incredible book, and if you want to grab it and go through it yourself, it's a great book. It's not one that I can pick out a whole bunch of nuggets and say this is incredible there.

Yesterday, I read an incredible poem, I think I'm actually going to reread it for you. And then I'll give you the basic overview of this chapter... The point of this book is he's going to give you 13 Principles of success, or 13 Principles to have success. The first one was "Desire", the second one was "Faith". And if you tuned in yesterday, there is a saying whoever said it, or did the research, that you need to hear something sixteen to seventeen times before you actually get it, take action on it, or actually understand it. So where are you tuning in from? Hold tight! I would say the book is full of stories. There's a lot of numbers, a lot of smart things in this book, and you can just grab the golden nuggets. So this is what I read yesterday, I'm going to read it and I'm going to recap the rest of the chapter.

He said...

If you think you are beaten, you are, If you think you dare not, you don’t If you like to win, but you think you can’t It is almost certain you won’t. If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost For out of the world we find, Success begins with a fellow's will- It’s all in the state of mind. If you think you are outclassed, you are, You’ve got to think high to rise, You’ve got to be sure of yourself before You can ever win a prize. Life’s battles don’t always go To the strongest or fastest man, But sooner or later the man who wins Is the man who thinks He can!

And so normally, I would go over the next five pages, but I'm just going to finish the chapter. The rest of this chapter is all about "Faith", and he said to find somebody that has done what you've done. Find somebody that has the faith, that's already achieved what you want, and go pull from their faith. What did they do? What are some things you can learn from them?... You have to know your goals, the story he tells is about a whole bunch of men that wanted to gain riches. Everything that we do comes from an idea of being creative, which is so interesting.
Everything starts with your mind, use it

My husband was listening to a podcast this morning, but I actually listened to it last week. And he said, "Did you know that only around 10 to 12% of kindergartens, after kindergarten have a creative side to them". Did you know? That is a learned behavior not to be creative? And did you know that out of creativity, sparks an idea that can create wealth, or a different idea for you to achieve your goals in your life? I'm saying that because only 2% of adults have a creative side to them. Which he talks about being creative, spurring on ideas, trying something new, and getting outside of the norm.

Have you guys ever heard the phrase normal isn't working? We say that to our kids a lot. I don't feel like our family is normal. And then we'll say something to our girls, when they're having a little girl drama, feeling left out or whatever the case may be. I have to go remember, "Normal Isn't Working".

It's not! If you look at the world, and we don't need to get into all that is going right now. My encouragement to you is to use your mind, it starts in your mind. Do you see it? Do you believe it? Do you believe in yourself?... If you don't, then find those who believe in themselves and glean from them, learn from them. What are they doing? Most likely, they are reading, learning from others, listening, and paying attention to what they're putting in. And what's coming out of them is the overflow of what they're learning. If you aren't learning, growing, or seeking what other people have done to get to where you want to go, then you're not going to get there.

That's what the poem said. So the rest of the chapter is kind of long. It's an incredible story of one man talking to a whole bunch of other men it and the story is creating it out of the whole story was the creation of he says it was the creation of the United States Steel Corporation. Is it super interesting? It just depends on what you think is interesting.

Ask yourself "Do you truly have the Desire?"

But out of the entire story, he says the man who created it was an unknown, and nobody knew him. He wasn't a famous person. But he had an idea, and he was using his brain. He saw something, he believed he could do it no matter what anybody else said.

It took his "Faith", "Desire", "Imagination", and his "Persistence"... Those were the ingredients to create what he created.

And you might be asking "What does that have to do with me losing a hundred pounds of fat?"... I want to know, do you see it? Do you have the faith to achieve it? Do you truly have the desire to lose it? Do you have the imagination to be creative, try new recipes, try workouts and ask a friend to join you. Do you have the persistence to see it through? Do you have faith? Do you have the desire? Do you see it? Do you have persistence?

Persistence because if you don't like any person that you see right now in social media, like Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, or wherever you're following people. The formula to achieve a dream, a goal, and a desire is faith. Desire, imagination, persistence, and maybe you would say consistency. Do you have the grit? People that have achieved the things that you won't have gone through those minefields. They've probably stepped on the mines, they've failed, they've gotten back up and they keep going.

That's why it's so important, and why it's so valuable for you to learn from others because our CEO said, follow those people that have already gone through the minefield so you're not stepping on them. They've already done it, learn from them and you can go further faster... So in the end, he said "Faith removes limitations. Remember this, when you are ready to bargain with life for whatever it is that you want as your price for having passed this way". He says things so interesting. He said, "Remember that everything is formed in your thoughts".

You Can't Give Somebody A Desire.
So, the reason I come on here every single morning is that I truly believe that your mindset is, hands down, one of the most important things for you to achieve your fat loss. If you don't see it, if you don't believe it, if you don't really have the burning desire to achieve it, if you don't have the persistence and the consistency, then you're kind of creating a mindless battle for yourself.

Over and over, you go after it and then fail, and then feel discouraged and then try again. Stop for a second and say "What do I want?", "What does it take within me to get it?", "Am I going to be consistent?", "Am I going to really go after it?" Do I really want it?" Or is it your spouse that wants it for you, your neighbor, your friend or your best friend, or your mom. You have to want it for yourself. It's the same thing with pushing our kids in anything. You can have the most athletic students, like one of our girls is athletic. I can't want it for them, you can't give somebody a desire. You can encourage them. And you can say "You're so great! You can totally do this"... But if they don't have the desire, then it's not going to go very far. You can only play the motions or play the role so much.

So my encouragement to you is to look inside yourself today and go, What do I want? What do I want? Write it down, I want you to start seeing it. Find the people that have done it, learn from them and take action. That is your action step today...
"Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill

So we're going to dive into chapter four tomorrow. You might be saying we read a lot of chapter three. A lot of it is a story about a steel company. Is it a great learning lesson? 100%? Is it super interesting? It depends on what you're interested in. We're going into chapter four tomorrow. I'm going to find another book, we are going to finish this one because it is a good book. In the next one, he talks about auto-suggestion. We're going to finish the book, and it's great. It's just hard to sometimes explain it to you.

But that is all I have for you today. I hope you have an incredible morning. I'm always here to help. This is the book that I'm reading, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. There's a lot of good books that I've read, it just depends on the audience. It just depends on you and what you want to read, and what you want to go through. It's just about choosing.

If you have a book that you've always wanted to read, make sure you post it below, I would love to know. Otherwise, I'm going to start searching for another book. Probably mid-November because it'll take us a little bit longer to get through. So I hope you guys have an incredible day.

Always reach out with questions, I'm here to help, and we'll talk to you soon.
