Good morning! Welcome to the Keto Mom page, it's time to take action. What does that mean? So as you're tuning in, where are you tuning in from? My name is Stephanie, and we have been going through books for the last few months here on the page every single morning. And then of course, we share recipes and anything else that goes along with a low carb, Keto lifestyle. I woke up this morning, and I was exhausted. I don't know why I was exhausted, I shouldn't be when I slept great. And my mindset went, when do I get to sleep in? And then I thought "Oh, my goodness! I don't get to sleep in, ever". No, I don't get to, but that was my mindset for the morning, I just needed some sleep.
Then I realized "Oh no! I can sleep if I want to, but I'm choosing to get up. I'm choosing to work out, I'm choosing to read. It's my choice"...
That was a matter of a shift. I really wasn't tired, I shouldn't be tired. In my head, I counted how many hours of sleep I got, and it should have been enough. It's so interesting how fast our mindset takes over how we feel. And so the reason why I read, the reason why I'm encouraging you to read, and just tune in here is to help you do one thing...
That is to put a positive mindset, and to give you tips, phrases or things that you can remember so that you can take action on your life.
Meaning, we read the book "The Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod, you don't just read and not put it to action. If you read it, my hope is you learned something, you implemented it, and now it's helping you on your journey. Whether it was taking your phone out of your room, putting it in the bathroom, or somewhere else that you have to get up. You don't hit the snooze, and you take control of your morning.
Own your morning, own your day. There's a lot of tips and tricks in here that if you put them into action, it's going to change your life.
Same way with "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. If you put this book into action, it's going to change your life. It talks about how "You don't rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems". And so the reason that I do this is to help you create systems. To own your morning, to own your day, to own your habits, and to own your life. So you can feel empowered, and you can empower others around you. Whether it's your spouse, your children or your employees.
Don't just sit back and gather information, or watch all of the keto influencers, all of the podcasts and not do anything with it. You have to do something, you have to have a decisive heart. And that's where we went through this book... The decisions that you should be making in your life, to own your health.
So what are you doing with all of the wisdom and knowledge that you have achieved so far? If you've been here for a while, I hope that you've learned something. What are you doing in your life, or with all of this knowledge... Maybe it's getting up early in the morning and owning your morning. Not hitting the snooze button. Maybe it's as simple as drinking a glass of water in the morning before you do anything and you should be moving your body.
Hal Elrod the author of Miracle Morning, gave us six tips to do. And if you could do this for one hour in the morning, your entire life is going to make a shift.
Maybe you're meditating, or reading, it's all in your mindset. Maybe you are getting all the junk out of your house, or you stop going through the fast food or drive thru. That would be huge! Or maybe you gave up soda. But this is not an overnight fix. This is not a one size fits all.
This is instead a "Hey, this is my life. This is my health. Here's how food affects me and this is what I'm going to do"...
I'm going to do one meal at a time. When I feel like I've got my morning owned. When I feel like I'm going to intermittent fast or I choose a better breakfast then to take over lunch. When I feel like I've got a good understanding of lunch, whether I pack my lunch or I need to meal prep. Or I take the buns off my burgers at the McDonald's. Whatever it is one percent better. And then for dinner, I'm going to try a new vegetable today. I'm going to try to drink more water. I'm not going to watch TV until it's time for bed because I know I don't sleep well... All of these things, play a good and incredible role in your health. And the reason that I read is because most people underestimate the power of stress and sleep in their life. Does that play a factor in reading?
Your stress holds on to body weight. It makes your body go in survival mode, and not budge. Reading helps renew your mind and it helps you get into a different space. If you even read at night before bed, it's going to help you sleep. Instead of scrolling on your phone or watching TV until you try to fall asleep. Sleep and stress plays a huge part in your health journey.
If all you're focusing on is your food and nothing else is taken cared of, then you need to look at the overall picture. And where your mindset is, it's not "I have to" it's "I get to"... I don't have to wake up in the morning, "I get to". I don't have to eat healthy, "I get to" and I don't have to work out, but "I get to" because I want to feel great and I want to be the best mom that I can be. So I hope these books are helping you. Thank you for tuning in. I don't have the other book that we're going to go through in August, but it's called "Winning the war in your Mind" by Craig Groeschel. Please reach out with any questions that you have, I'm always here to help. And that's it. I'm going to go sit at a table all day, we were there yesterday, today and tomorrow. Sharing about Ketones, sharing what I love and helping people on their journey. So if you live in my local town, you should pop by and see me, I'm in Minnesota. But otherwise, I hope you guys have an incredible day. I appreciate you all, and thank you for tuning in. I'd love for you to press the share button so other people can tune in, learn and grow with you.
Otherwise, have a wonderful day and I'll talk to you soon.
