Hey everybody! Welcome to the Keto Mom page, it's time for a two o'clock tasting and a keto tip. I have it for you right here, a sneak Peek. I'm popping on here real quick, it's going to be a pretty fast live. It's two o'clock where I'm at, depending on when you watch this, your time may be different. But I am shaking up my mom fuel, and I'm going to share with you every single day at two o'clock, a different flavor of my mom fuel and I'm going to give you a keto tip all month long. So as you're tuning in, where are you tuning in from? What did you have for lunch today? I had low carb pizza, we made them on low carb wraps. You can use a marinara sauce, put your toppings on, throw in the oven and enjoy. Super simple, and that's what I had... I am shaking up my favorite flavor, I love all of them.
But for those of you who don't know me, our family started on this journey, well my husband started this journey over six years ago. I started on this keto low carb journey with drinking a packet of ketones. And since then, I have been implementing different food swaps, learning how to eat keto and low carb and sharing our journey along the way.
That's what we've been doing. So I would love to know how is your day so far? How is the first day of the month? It is a new season. I mean summer for you might still be here, but I truly believe fall is here. Our kids are in all things, all activities, all sports, we homeschool... Just so you know, normally I shake my ketones up in a shaker bottle. This is what I drink, I call it my mom fuel and it puts you in ketosis in under an hour. You do not have to be doing a strict keto diet, most people are low carb let's just be real. I'd love to know what you are, and what you consider yourself as you. You know, some people say strict keto, and then they tell me how to eat. And I always say, "That's not really keto, it's low carb and that's great"... Some people say they're low carb, some people say lazy keto, or dirty keto, whatever you want to say.
There's not a one size fits all and everybody's different. Everybody's bodies function differently, and therefore they eat a little differently. Some people can even handle more dairy. Some people eat more net carbs, some total carbs.
So as we go through the entire month, I'm going to give you lots of different keto tips and tricks to help you on this journey and just to give you some awareness. So going back, I normally shake this up, but I love to drink out of a straw. When I drink water, I carry this cup around all day long with water in it, and I just drink more water if I have a straw. So why do I drink Ketones? I've been drinking it for six years and it puts you in ketosis in under an hour. Regardless if you're strict keto, I have ketones in my system. So I used to joke about it, and I would say I haven't taken an app in six years. The product is incredible, it is a tool, not a magic pill and it's amazing. Today, I'm drinking up "Berry Blue", it kind of reminds me of those old school raspberry blueberry slushies when I was a kid, from the gas station.
This is what I'm drinking and it's what I've drank for six years. Today's flavor "Berry Blue" tastes incredible. And the benefits are simply more energy, focus, fat loss, better mood, better sleep, and your appetite control is incredible.
Why do I drink it? Because it's a tool, I feel amazing and it puts the ketones in my system. Some of you live off of pots of coffee, energy drinks, and whatever the case may be. I'm guessing a lot of you are at work. If you're not, and you homeschool like me or you're at home, maybe you work from home.
Here is your Keto Tip of the day number one, for September first... "Remove temptations from wherever you're at"...
What does that mean? How often have you walked into the kitchen and you're not hungry, but something was sitting on the counter. Or you walked into the office employee lounge, teacher's lounge, or any lounge and there's been something on the counter and you naturally go and grab it. I watched my husband do this often... If there's something sitting on the counter, he's not hungry, but he grabs it. So I'll say "Hey are you hungry?"... I'm asking you this right now, it's two o'clock and about three o'clock is when most people hit the three o'clock wall. I don't, because I drink ketones, and I feel incredible. But do not go look for snacks because you're bored, or because you need to get through the next couple hours of work, because you're emotional, or whatever the case may be. So here's the number one thing I tell people when we're working on their food. I'm going to say "Whatever your biggest temptation is, I want you to get it out of your house". If it's cookies, chips, if there's a certain cookie, or whatever ice cream it is that you find yourself grabbing at night, get it out of your house. You might say "But my kids like it"...
Find a different snack that you want your kids to have. For instance, I don't like ice cream, I don't like it at all. If it's in my freezer, I will never go and get it. If I ever have it in my freezer, my kids eat it. I'm not tempted by it, therefore, I don't care. Now, if there's chocolate chip cookies in the house, I love those. If they're sitting on my counter, I'm going to have to stay out of my kitchen. If they're sitting on my counter long enough, I might find myself grabbing one. I need to remove those out of my sight and out of my home. My kids are okay not having chocolate chip cookies in the house. So, whatever it is that you find yourself naturally gravitating towards, get it out. If you have a candy drawer at your office, remove the candy. If you can't handle the donuts in the employee lounge, don't walk in the employee lounge. You have to remove all temptations, and I told one girl last night, when she was reaching out to me, she works overnights and she said "I'm constantly eating things to stay awake or I'm bored"... I hear a lot of people say "I'm bored and I eat".
I said "Go grab some sugar free gum"... I have a water bottle with me at all times, either it has ketones or water in it. I don't mind chewing on gum or sucking on a mint. Or my friend does this, she has one of those little oils. She takes peppermint oil and drops a teeny little drop of peppermint oil on her tongue and it takes cravings away. Or go eat a pickle that helps as well.
The tip today is simply "Remove Temptation". Your kids don't need the Oreos in the house and neither do you. They'll get them from a birthday party. Remove temptation, get it off the counters and get it out of your office desk drawer. Because if it's in your sight, you're going to more apt to grab it.
